[DIV class=body](AP) Santa must have a trick. A man who was locked out of his house in this Denver suburb tried to get in by sliding down the chimney early Friday, but he got stuck and had to be rescued, authorities said.
The man, whose name wasn't released, fell about 12 feet down the shaft. Authorities said he was hurt but did not elaborate on the nature and extent of his injuries.
He convinced authorities it was his home, and there was no evidence he was breaking in, city spokeswoman Jennifer Galli said. Police were present but made no arrests.
Firefighters rescued the man by lowering a ladder into the chimney and lifting him to safety, Galli said.
Emergency workers were summoned at about 3:20 a.m., but it wasn't clear who called them.

Not the brightest thing to do!
How many storeys high was the house?
I want to know the answer to that too gopher.. must be two storeys or more.
To be honest though, this is something I can see myself trying if I lock myself out coming home from the bar.
You might want to rethink that idea!
Oh yes, I agree, but the logic sometimes when intoxicated gets pretty mind boggling.
After a few drinks, logic takes an indefinite time off. But it is amazing what the mind can come up with and find it reasonable.
Oooh! I can tell we have stories to share! But, uh, really. None of them are to do with me, they all happened to my 'friends' yeah thats it. I only heard about them.
I would NEVER think otherwise. [A href="vny!://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb001_ZNxdm824DFCA" target=_blank][img alt=Cheers src="vny!://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/23/23_28_125.gif[/img][/A]

Ok, as dumb as this sounds.. I needed to look up on my roof anyhow to see how the newer metal roofing we put on looked. So I went up with the ladder alongside the balcony and no I couldnt get down if I wanted to. It has concrete blocks blocking it, and it has inserts on the upstairs and downstairs chimneys as we put gas fireplaces in.
At least you looked. Apparently the other guy didn't.(//vny!://discoverseattle.net/forums/richedit/smileys/Word_Negative/2.gif)
