Is anyone going to watch this movie by Mel Gibson? Apparently it's more bloodthirsty and gorier than The Passion of Christ.

Not me. I'm not so good with the bloody gore. I'm a little wimpy.....I cried so hard.....uncontrolable sobbing, at the Fox and the Hound, my kids went and sat somewhere else.
And then there was the time that these little aligator eggs hatched when Donald Duck was there, and all the little aligators thought DD was there mother. LOST IT !!!!!!
what do the critics say about this movie. i actually have heard very little about it.
Don't they usually say it's the best movie of the year.....even though nobody has seen it yet ?
You know Ive wondered the same thing myself PC.
I dont really have anything to add other than I will probably watch it, and for some reason the title of this thread made me think of "Apocalypse Now". Loved that movie.
Movie success largely depends on the quality of the hype more than the quality of the movie, which is why I seldom listen to the critics. The first 3 days will tell if a movie is financially successful and that is directly related to the success of the hype.
Same with books sometimes. The Davinci Code was SO over rated, that it magnified it's flaws. One of the poorest written books I've ever read. I liked the concept, but the writing itself was grade 10 at best.
Wow! Good morning PC! I thought I was the only one awake finishing a beer before going to bed, my gf gave up on me and is already there.
How was your evening? Is the board faster for you now? Its quicker the last little bit for me, maybe cause theres not as many people on?
Thats actually a good way to judge a movie I find, by how much the movie grosses the first little bit. I never listen to the critics, I mean look at Siskel and Egbert. Both are idiots to me.
Yea.....I've been telling myself to go to bed for the last hour.
It's running much better now.
The money a movie makes isn't the best indicator of a good movie either, as it's largely the response to the hype. Most effective way is to judge for yourself I guess.
Well, that did it for me....I'm off to bed.
Take care !!!
True enough.
Have a goodnight yourself PC! Good advice, Im off as well.

That makes sense. So was Mayan society. (//vny!://www.clicksmilies.com/s1106/waffen/violent-smiley-012.gif)
We will probably wait for it to come to cable. The idea of actively giving Gibson any money isn't high on our list of things to do.

P.C., when you watch a Donald Duck flick, you've got to keep a stiff upper lip.

Or Bambi.
Seriously, I have found that the closing scene in the Joy Luck Club makes everybody cry no matter how many times they see it.
I will probably watch it, but at home. I love my theatre at home.
I am way behind on the movies...
Did you guys know Darth is Luke's father?!?!!!!!!!!(//vny!://discoverseattle.net/forums/richedit/smileys/Shocked/4.gif)
LOL, CK. That sounds like me. I think the last movie I saw at the theatre was........oh never mind, but it was a LONG time ago. I prefer the cozy couch, a nice glass of wine, and the pause button. (and nobody talking over my shoulder about how the guy that just got killed ?.....isn't really dead. So much for suspense) Or laughter so loud, that you miss the next three scenes........REWIND !
Yeah, last December I made a nice surroundsound/TV room and I am loving it. I still go to about 1 movie a year. This year I seen Pirates II.
I hate that popcorn costs more than the ticket. Cause once I smell popcorn, I am drooling and my wallet is out!
That's how the theatres make money no? Popcorn and crap shoved up to your nose so you're forced to buy them. I usually pop my own bag and sneak into my giantantic diaper bag. Nooooobody knows. (//vny!://discoverseattle.net/forums/richedit/smileys/Happy/13.gif)
I'm like you, CK. Last movie I watched was Pirates of the Caribbean II. *sigh* No time to go to the theatres now.
Last movie I watched was Borat. Before that I went and watched Flags of our Fathers.
We got the medium popcorn and pop to share, at least they are refillable! I found out that real butter is a dollar more than margarine which doesnt cost any more than the arm you are already paying for the popcorn.
I know!! Isn't that incredible that they will charge you $1.00 for one long dollop for butter. And then they soaked the popcorn up so much that it just makes them too soggy to eat. Meh. I think I should just eat the popcorns off the floor next time.

5 second rule, its still legal and edible if its grabbed within 5 seconds of hitting the ground.
Not only that, you could have a quickie too. Not that I know anything about that.(//vny!://discoverseattle.net/forums/richedit/smileys/Happy/19.gif)
5 second quickie!?? we could do it twice!
CK, if memory serves me right, you lasted one second. CHEERS!
LOL! Thats all I have to say...
Thread went towards SEX of the sex and booze rule for threads!
What can I say, Russ... we have a one track mind.
Oh Im not complaining miss lise.. far from it!
So other than movies in the theatre, what movies have y'all watched at home?
Memoirs of a Geisha was the last one. DeRailed before that. S'okay but predicatable. I have Cassanova next.
Last one I watched was Click. Im currently partway through the series (which i thought was a movie not a mini series) called Bermuda Triangle.
Hey Russ, is this the one? [A href="vny!://www.imdb.com/title/tt0452573/"]vny!://www.imdb.com/title/tt0452573/[/A]
I keep missing it but the trailer looks good.
mmm. popcorn

Yep beautiful miss lise, that is the one. The mini series movie so far is pretty good. the chick from JAG is in it as well!
Personally, I hate that movie!!! It's so boring!! It's worse than SAW III
The movie starts off with a group of people (including the main character) hunting a boar and the conflict occurs when the Mayans capture their village and take them as captives to sacrifice them to the sun god. Fortunately when the main character is about to be sacrificed, an eclipse occurs and the Mayans think that the sun god forgave them. And the rest is about how the main character escapes from the Mayans and saves his wife and kids.
The climax is messed up! and the whole movie is so boring, at one point I thought of walking out of the theatre.
I learned a new lesson, never go to a movie without reading the plot or a review! I thought it was about archealogy!! (//forums/richedit/smileys/Happy/2.gif)
I also want to add that the movie contains lots of violence, well not as bad as Saw III, but still....(//forums/richedit/smileys/Happy/2.gif)
Hmm, really TC? Wow. That's weird because it's number 1 at the box office. Anyways, thanks for the heads up. Now that I have low expectations of the movie, it might actually be ok when I start watching it on DVD someday.
Well yeah, personally I didn't like the movie... I thought it would be like an archealogical movie like "The Mummy" with adventures and secrects. I didn't think it would like a personal historical diary with an awful plot. Your Welcome..(//forums/richedit/smileys/Happy/2.gif)
