Title: Memoirs of a Geisha
Post by: Lise on Dec 04 06 09:46

Saw this film yesterday. Wasn't too bad but I kinda wished they had picked someone else to play the lead role. Zhang Ziyi's acting is laughable but Gong Li was fantastic. It pays to play the baddie.

And why is a Japanese girl wearing blue contact lenses?????

I don't know, but I like it.  I'd also like some for myself, but Trollina is fond of my own green ones as they are, and I can't do contact lenses or anything else that involves putting things in my eyes.

Oh. Green eyes, eh? Hawt factor just went up here.

Meh. I found it distracting though because it's all I ever see in the movie. I keep thinking that's so wrong. Japanese girls in that period don't have blue eyes and on Zhang Ziyi, it made her look so weird.

Really? I've always wanted ice blue eyes. Shows what I know.

I saw the movie when it came out.  Didn't enjoy it much.  I'm never a fan of Zhang ZiYi.

I havent watched this movie yet, but I keep thinking about it whenever I walk by in Blockbuster.. Would you recommend it?

I like asians with blue or green contact lensed eyes.. Its a real attention grabber and a way to look striking!

  I just have a blue/green type eyes.

I would love to have green eyes.  Brown seems dull.

LOL, same here kitten.  My b/f urges me to try those tinted green/blue contacts because he says that on asians, these are absolutely stunning.  LOL, oh dear.  I think that he would never let go of me.. LOL!

Oh Russ, yes, I'd recommend it.  It's an okay movie, laid back.  Kinda boring and predictable.  I wouldn't own the DVD though.

Never letting go of you seems like a bonus, purelife.  I couldn't stick anything in my eyes, though.

LOL Russ.  It doesn't mean that I'll go and do it.  He tells me all sorts of things.

Is it true that guys get turned on by girls in grey sweats?  especially the ones with paw prints on?  And, do guys like girls with the sports bra?  LOL!
Title: Re: Memoirs of a Geisha
Post by: kitten on Dec 04 06 02:15
It's my guess that guys get turned on by almost anything their girlfriend is wearing.

I haven't seen the movie, but why did they have 1) blue contact lenses and 2) Zhang Ziyi being the geisha... (does she trained/know all that kimono stuff, etc?) I don't care if a Chinese lady plays a Japanese lady... probably difficult to tell the difference for most people who watch the film anyway.

Hell Ya! I love chicks in sweats! Dunno, just does it for me.

I had a girlfriend that when we hiked would wear her sports bra only.. I think she did that on purpose.

Fixed it for you kitten, but this is a very true statement that cant be denied, but some things do it more than others.

Wouldn't it depend on the initial amount of interest the man has in the woman?  The higher the interest, the greater appreciation for what she is wearing.

Yes, but some things are best for the imagination! Or maybe in some cases its better not to.. like some poeple in spandex, ewww!

The worse the body, the better the clothes have to be styled.  Some women look best in tent dresses, others in swimsuits.
Title: Re: Memoirs of a Geisha
Post by: Russ on Dec 04 06 10:45
LOL,

my gf would be the bathing suit.

I would be the potato sack tent!

Although she would prefer it the other way!
Title: Re: Memoirs of a Geisha
Post by: kitten on Dec 04 06 11:10
I don't really believe she would rather be the potato sack tent, Russ!!!
Title: Re: Memoirs of a Geisha
Post by: Russ on Dec 04 06 11:14
Ha! I meant figuratively. I cant seem to convince her to dress more provocatively in a swimsuit, she dresses conservatively. She tells me to wear something more provocative, when I dress conservatively!
Title: Re: Memoirs of a Geisha
Post by: kitten on Dec 04 06 11:17
Maybe you could surprise her with a fairly conservative bathing suit, and once she is comfortable with it you can persuade her to try something more provocative.

That was what I was trying to figure out, Marik. It didn't make any sense & I kept thinking that she;s wearing contact lens in a period film. I think all the actresses went through some kind of crash course in geisha training but they weren't very good at it.

I watched a documentary on the art of geisha and it was fascinating. These are not your average hookers, they have class and the training is both ruthless and strict. Geishas still exist in this day and age but they're not as common as they were before WWII.

LOL Russ.  I used to wear a lot of black clothes but now, since I've met my guy, my clothing style has changed.  I've got more colors, more patterned stuff and I'm more into what's fashionable or at least, what looks good on me.

Hmmm, I have yet to see my guy in a full on suit.  YUMMY!

Do you dress according to your mood, purelife?  I know if I'm in a great mood I tend to wear brighter clothes.
Title: Re: Memoirs of a Geisha
Post by: purelife on Dec 05 06 09:48
Nope, not yet Kitten.  I just wear whatever I haven't worn for a while.  But, when I feel kinda fiesty, I wear my RED shirt and boy oh boy, do I feel really bright.  It certainly puts me in a different mood.  (a good thing)

Hmm, I hope you dont try to guess my mood on my clothes lol. I usually wear whats clean and the closest. Matching doesnt matter.

We all know what PURPLE means, right?  *wink*

Post by: Russ on Dec 05 06 10:02
If we have the same meaning, then yes I do.. (//vny!://discoverseattle.net/forums/richedit/smileys/9.gif)

I honestly can say I dont have any neon, purple, pink, or any other similar colour clothes.
Title: Re: Memoirs of a Geisha

I've seen many guys these days wearing light pink ad dark purple.  Looks good on them.

There was this one guy in my office who sat across from me who wore this purple dress shrit one day.  Well, I asked him if he knew what "purple" meant.  He didn't know.  My female coworker and I just giggled and laughed our heads off.  Then, we told him and he was SO shocked.  LOL.  It was too funny.  And from that point on, he NEVER wore purple again.  Poor guy...LOL.... he doesn't want to be picked on by the girls here.  Heck, I wear purple too.

Its not so much for the 'meaning' for me. I just dont like the colours. My girlfriend wears bright colours as well as pink and purple.

I just threw a load of her wash in, lol, and she doesnt even live here. Spends most of her time here, only at home like one day a week now.

She sometimes browses this forum, but shes afraid to sign up in case of stalkers. So she just uses my account, lol.

Hm. I don't even know what purple means......... to put it blunt, does that mean you're gay? Does this mean I shouldn't buy my husband any more purple shirt??

Of course, we'll be nice to her. Have her sign up as a different user if she wants. (//vny!://discoverseattle.net/forums/richedit/smileys/Happy/12.gif)

Sent her a link lets see if this does anything. Hi babe!

From what I know the meaning as it means sexually deprived.
Title: Re: Memoirs of a Geisha
Post by: purelife on Dec 05 06 10:27
LOL, yup, means that you're sexually frustrated.  But of course, only if you take it seriously because today, I've got purple on.  LOL!  Or, maybe I AM sexually frustrated.  LOL1

Hi babe too!  :D  Perhaps that'll work.

Ah, no way. Purple means you're sexually frustrated? Geez..... there goes my favorite color.

Maybe Russ has a pair of purple underwear that he can retire them too. *snicker snicker snicker*

LOL you girls.  I would never stop wearing purple.  My g/f, on the other hand, would NEVER wear purple because of the meaning.  LOL1

I wouldnt retire it just cause of that!

If you enjoy it, just wear it. Who cares what some people think?

The only reason I dont wear purple is cause I dont like the colour.
