Title: Crayon Carving
Post by: TehBorken on Dec 03 06 01:57
Pete Goldlust carves these elaborate sculptures out of standard wax crayons. I don't know why, but I think they're just too damn cool. [a  href="vny!://www.petegoldlust.com/carvedcrayons.html"]Linky[/a]

Now THAT'S cool !!!

OK.....I have to admit, when I first read that, I was going to tell TehBorken, to NOT be embarrassed.  Just go get a colouring book and some Crayolas and satisfy that crayon craving. I actually meant this.       The other one is someone who misinterprets the innocent things you post.

More amazing carving.....this was done by a 15 year old, using 2,5000,000 matchsticks.

No kidding.....it's amazing

"Model of the Cathedral of Cologne constructed of  2,500,000 Matches - Hans Swoboda, a young German artist built this extraordinary model.  The Cathedral of Cologne is considered one of the greatest achievements in architecture, attracting yearly several hundred thousand visitors from all parts of the world.  Hans Swoboda (now in his twentieth year), was inspired to duplicate this beautiful work in miniature when he was fifteen years old.   He conceived the idea of using matches, believing these the best material to bring out the straight upright lines of gothic architecture.   The young man toiled more than three and a half years, averaging over ten hours work a day, to build his remarkable replica.  It is 10 feet in length, 9 feet in height, and 7 1/2 feet in width."

I was thinking he had no toys to play with as a kid myself.

I think those crayons are INCREDIBLE, I wouldnt have the patience or the skill to do that. I think it all comes back to the patience thingy.

Kids can be quite inventive.  Toothpicks can be toys too.  *I guess!*

Both of those are damn cool, but 10 hours / day?? Come on, I'm thinking this kid has autism or something... how can anyone work on something for that long every day? He probably doesn't like school that much either...
