So yeah, what's your favourite word. Mine is epitome - the ultimate, the embodiment.
"That's HOT!"
oops, didn't Paris Hilton try to brand that phrase. :P Ah well, it's my steal. ;D
giggles
OM
ASATOMA SADGAMAYA
TAMASOMA JYOTHIRGAMAYA
MRITHYORMA AMRUTANGAMAYA
OM SHANTI, SHANTI, SHANTI
You say it as one word. [img style="CURSOR: pointer" onclick=url(this.src); src="vny!://www.cheesebuerger.de/images/smilie/frech/c035.gif" border=0]
I have a poet friend who likes to ask people for 5 of their favorite words, then try to write a poem using them. It always makes something pretty neat.
I love the feel of certain words in my mouth the way I love the texture of certain foods. When I was a teenager, I loved the words maelstrom, whimsy, and vector.
Right now I really dig the word chrome. I don't choose them because of what they mean, just how they feel in the mouth.
I was so fond of the sound of the word lurid in my 20s that I legally changed my last name to it for about 18 months. I was kinda goofy.
Montelimar, is one of my favourites......especially how Deborah Kerr used to say it. (I think it was Deborah Kerr) It never sounds as good when I say it.

Definitions of lurid on the Web:
[UL type=disc][FONT size=-1][LI]horrible in fierceness or savagery; "lurid crimes"; "a lurid life" [LI]glaringly vivid and graphic; marked by sensationalism; "lurid details of the accident" [LI]shining with an unnatural red glow as of fire seen through smoke; "a lurid sunset"; "lurid flames" [LI]ghastly pale; "moonlight gave the statue a lurid luminence"

I know, I know! I was as contrived in my artless "eccentricity" as only a 24-year-old can be.
I'm just lucky it wasn't even sillier. It would have been epiphany or palindrome or zephyr, for crying out loud! Ay yi yi...
My favourite word is insatiable ... as in, insatiable appetite, insatiable desire.... I just love saying it. A damn sexy word, imho.
do you have an insatiable appetite for anything else, sexy chica? :)
perpetual...as in perpetual life...perpetual happiness...perpetual satisfaction...(//vny!://discoverseattle.net/forums/richedit/smileys/Happy/14.gif)
lucid
pragmatic
resonate
self deprecating
I like mesmerizing. It has a lovely buzz to it.
Oooooo, kitten, that's a good one....I like that too.
Whats your favourite word?[/DIV]hmm.[/DIV]I dunno[/DIV]I don't have one really.
I've always like the sound of succulent. [img style="CURSOR: pointer" onclick=url(this.src); src="vny!://www.cheesebuerger.de/images/smilie/konfus/a100.gif" border=0] It's so......so, versatile.
I like onomatopoiea
and wherewhithal
FC.....I like onomatopoiea
[/DIV]For shame, for shame....I have no idea what that is.[/DIV]In general, I like words that seemed to have been abandoned...perhaps too flowerey or old fashioned words. But no other words have ever substituted their descriptiveness. (now there's a word ...or maybe not)
Chagrin.....what other word says it better. I use it, and suffer the consequences.
I never like it when someone uses words that are specific to what someone does, WHEN THEY KNOW you won't have a clue what they're talking about. It's pretentious and I feel like they're purposfully putting you in the position of feeling like a dummy. I'm open to learning new words, and I love it......BUT, there are times, I know they're being condescending.
Now THAT was a RANT.[/DIV]
My favorite word would be "greenlighted"
Anything my daughter says.
I've always been a big fan of the word "Yes!", especially when said by my date. (//forums/richedit/smileys/Happy/22.gif)
I had a friend who was dating a gal. Her father didn't like him at all and told her to loudly say "NO!" to anything he asked her to do. So on their next date he asked her "Would you mind if I remove your panties?"
lol. That's funny.

Does anyone remember the Monty Python sketch about "woody and tinny" words?

I also am highly influenced by the word, "boustrophedonic," integral to my own private kabbalah, so to speak.

GOOD one purelife !
Serendipity is another favourite.
Did you ever watch that movie "Serendipity," kitten?
No, but then I almost never watch movies.
I started watching Serendipity with John Cusack in it then I got bored..... Hmm.... I doubt I can go to the movies with purelife. Your taste is totally different from mine. Hehe.
LOL Lise. We can watch Spidey 3 together. Can I get a yes yes!?
Serendipity was an okay movie. It was kinda slow for my liking.
Spiderman 3. For sure.... if I can possibly escape from the kids. It's hard for me to get away but would love to.

Hello Aby, how about jiggery pokery for a nice word/s?
mine is yes
I like ecstatic. It seems to be the ultimate in happiness.
I still just barely prefer ecstatic, but euphoria follows close behind.
Always appreciated jiggery pokery.
Mellifluous also makes my whiskers twitch happily.
Tranquillity is always soothing to hear.
Tangential
It just sounds nice, but carries an air of uncertainty.

I see what you did there. :)
Kokolores. I've just come across it, it's not a female name but a German word which means balderdash or rubbish.
I think currently the word is bamboozled. I'm trying to set up my phone in the bedroom and the instructions are driving me nuts. I almost get it, and then I mess up and ruin the settings. After that, I carefully put the phone back on the stand before the urge to throw it at the wall materializes. GRRRR!!! If it rings, I can answer it. If I actually want to phone out, I retreat to the living room to make the call. I concede defeat when it comes to setting up the phone according to the instructions.
Manufacturers 1,
Me 0 (at least so far!)
Trying to set anything by the instructions is almost an impossibility, trial and error (it's usually error) is the only way.
I often use youtube for help.
So far error seems to have the upper hand. But I will get there eventually. (I keep telling myself)
