Title: Help with obsolete card game rules?
Post by: primefactor on Feb 24 06 08:18
Has anyone ever played a card game called "Himalaya"? I found it at a thrift store and the rules are missing but it looks like fun -- sort of like a mountain-climbing version of Mille Borne. I have searched the internet for rules to no avail. The company that made the game no longer exists. Anyone know it?

I usually have good luck with weird old card games from thrift stores. That's how I got all messed up on Briscola...

I used to play Milles Bourne. Or, as we'd say, "Increvible!"

Himalaya? Is this it?

That's not the one, sadly. This one has 35 cards with distances, gear cards, danger cards, no dice or anything, just came in a little bitty box. Hope someone will recognize it -- my younger son is sure "the internet people" will supply us with the answer.

The Internet People sounds like a B-grade horror film. I call dibs on the rights to the title! If anyone makes that movie, they have to appease me with an offering of eleven hollow milk chocolate easter bunnies. Preferably ones where the sugar eyeballs have been affixed askew, lending the bunny a sort of psycho look.

Not really. Is it kind of a drag that we're knocking out your little bag of tricks?

I'm sure you've probably already checked these out primefactor, but see if they ring any bells.  I keep getting the impression the cards may be a part of a board game.  Some of the cards you mentioned were within the descriptions on these links.

Has anyone out there played that game described on numerous internet sites as "1000 Blank White Cards"? Sounds like such fun. I like games where unexpected stuff happens. "Once Upon a Time" is fun too for the same reason, but I can rarely get anyone to play it with me.

I am a board game freak.
