To me hands down the best wildlife show ever was Marty Stouffers Wild America. That show whenever it is on is brilliant always watch it. Too bad he doesn't make any new shows anymore. I bet someone could have a field day and make a show like that about Canadian wildlife.
Anything by National Geography. Love that channel.
I do to but they still don't have an North American based show on North American wildlife. Yeah I know all about africa and the amazon but I want to know what's in my backyard. Thats why I love Wild America.
Best wildlife show I've ever seen, (and I still look for a rerun) was many years ago. I actually got my kids out of bed to come watch. It was called 'Animals are Beautiful People Too' (I think) It was SO good. The naration was perfect. I'm not 100% about the title, but it was close to that. It was a 2 hour documentary style movie. THE BEST
back in the day, i used to watch Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom. it was on right after disney's movie.
I used to watch Wild Kingdom too. I thought it was a great show.
P.C., do you remember which channel it was on, for instance would it have been CBC? I wish I could have seen it. It sounds wonderful!
Sad thing about Wild America was the show was done in the early 80's before the on slaught of urban sprawl, the anti environment Reagan Amistrations policies had gone into effect as well.
Now there is no place in the U.S. that is truely 'wild'. The only problem I have with Canada is there refusal to ban clear cutting which is like strip mining to the forest.

This is a new show that is not only about wildlife, but the environment around the world. From Canada to India.
I don't remember what channel it was on, Kitten. It wasn't a series, it was a movie. I always look for it in the listings, but have only seen it once while browsing through a friends satelite guide (how DO you spell that....lol). I was thrilled to pieces, when they told me they would tape it for me, only to have the power go out THAT NIGHT.
The footage itself was documentary, but it was the narration that was so well done.....quite comical. I remember the footage of the chimps and elephants who gorged themselves on fallen fruit that had fermented....a wee sad for the elephants, but the chimps absolutely made the best of it. Cartwheeling and generally acting like a typical bunch of yahoos.
