I will be acquiring a new cat the day after tomorrow and I would appreciate some name suggestions. The winner will receive 5 blessings for their suggestion.
The cat is a large tabby cat, male with green eyes and white paws. He is light brown with dark stripes. He's very gentle and affectionate and I look forward to having him as my new housemate and companion.
Thank you for any ideas on names you might have.
Hmm. Let me think.
Simon Fraser
Colonel Moody
Gassy Jack
Lord Stanley
Interesting choices, but I don't quite think they would fit his personality. More suggestions are welcome, though. Thanks for responding, Sportsdude.
what kind of personality is he?
Max
Blotto
The Feline Of Death
(Okay, that last one may not be a good choice.)
He's quiet, gentle and affectionate. By the way, he weighs about 16 pounds, about double the weight of Spooky.

The feline of death might be a good alternate. I haven't gotten to know him yet.
oh boy he's an eater.
Surprisingly, he's not fat. He is just a big cat. It's going to be fun taking him to the vet when he needs it. I might have to put wheels on his pet taxi!
huh? Wheels? Oh I get it he's too heavy for you to lift in the cage.
Does he like to sleep.
Sleepy
I don't know. All cats sleep about 16 hours a day, but this cat is an indoor/outdoor cat, so he'll be getting plenty of exercise.
I was told he's about two years old, so he will be around for a long time, barring any accidents.
hmm tough one.
LOL. The Feline of Death.
Duke
Toby
MacGyver (OK, I'm fan of Richard Dean Anderson)
Sparky
Shadow
I don't know any more. Not much of a cat person.
Thanks, Lise. The names will all go into a hat and I'll make the draw after I pick up the cat. My friend suggested Samson because of his size, but I don't think it's him.
Ian
Thank you, weird al. It will be added to my collection.
This is my theory.......as he sounds much like my old cat Leonard, (PC's son) I'm thinking he has made the connection and come back to be your companion. Leonard (we called him Lenny) because the Leonard was a little stuffy for him sometimes. He was a ginger tabby and a giant, but as laid back and gentle as they come......and he had a good sense of humour to boot. (He was a big adorable buffoon.)
I dropped a few tears for Spooky last night, and I never even had the good fortune to meet him. So, I believe Lenny had a hand in guiding this new kitty to you.......so my vote is for Leonard. (or Lenny)
It would be such an honour to name him after your Leonard. He certainly sounds like my new cat, and looks like him too. Thank you, P.C.
I kinda liked Ian too, weird al. I like giving cats 'people names'. I had a cat named Dennis too. (that one may have been a mistake. Im sure all the other cats in the neighbourhood laughed at him, as he had very low self esteem. Or maybe it was just because he wasn't very bright. Poor Dennis)
Another name I thought of giving him, with your permission of course, was P.C. Would that be OK with you if that's the one I choose?
Now THAT would be an Honour (yes, with a capital H)
Thank you so much. So far I like this one the best. (but the contest is still open!)
You're quite welcome........and I'll keep thinking of some new ones. But right now, I have to zip into town for some gas. I'm only minutes from work, so I can drive forever on a tank of gas. As a result, I've become lazy about checking the gas gauge, and I noticed my gas light was on as I pulled up the driveway. I'm unfamiliar with how long I can gamble with this, as it's the first time.
I'll be back in a bit.
Chat later, P.C.
Oh Oh Oh I've got a good name its a german dog name but oh well its got a lot of meaning. My grandpa had a german shepard when he was my age in Austria before the war his name was Ralphie. He loved that dog so much but he had to leave it behind when he came to the states. Always would talk about Ralphie. Even wrote to the owners.

I've always liked "Spud". We had a cat named that growing up. My Dad had a knack for naming cats (my other favorite was "Flue Brush" for at all black cat).
I'll go for Ian as well. However, Cariad would be a nice name to use (Welsh - darling).
What great names you've sent in! They're all nice names for a cat, and "Flue Brush" really tickled my funny bone. I'm trying to stay away from people names and going more for descriptive or strange ones. "Cariad" is a very good one.....short and appealing. Thank you all for your help.

how about posting a pic?
Sorry I couldn't bless you, catnamer, but the thought and the thanks are there. Evil is an interesting name, but my cat is too gentle to be evil. I like all your suggestions, but when I brought him home this afternoon I noticed that I was calling "kittycat" when I talked to him, so his name will be Kaycee for Kittycat. I thank every one of you for your help, and I will continue blessings for a while in appreciation.

I don't have a digital camera, so I'll take a pic and take it to the people who do these things and then try to send it.
call him kaycee!
see so I would have named him but you wrote it in first...no fair.
That's because I saw him first and he told me what to call him.
Kaycee is a lovely name, Kitten. I'm of the same mind.....they DO tell you their names. I did the same with my children. I couldn't pick a name without seeing a face, so they were named the day (or the day AFTER) they were born, and so of course their names were a perfect fit.
Give Kaycee a scritch from P.C.
Hey Ms. Kitten, how about a picture of your cat so we can name him properly? (//vny!://discoverseattle.net/forums/richedit/smileys/Teasing/5.gif)
I'll try to take a pic of him soon, but he already told me his name was Kaycee. It will take a while since I don't have a digital camera.
you said the cat was an adult, so how old is he?
KC aka KittyCat is a good name. To Sportsdude
He was a stray, so his age is unknown. I'm going to ask the vet if he can make an estimate based on his size and general health.
To catnamer
Thanks. He seems to answer to it so it must be okay. When are you going to enter this magic circle by joining DS? I owe you a couple of blessings.
