So far I'm pretty impressed with the features.

I like how I can read previous posts while composing my reply.
My avatar got squishied, but I can re-size.

An avatar preview on the profile page would be nice, but that's a VERY minor concern.

So...is this package pretty secure?

Damn, you're fast, lol.

I see a few things that would need to be changed, but this isn't bad. Takes a bit to get used to. I'll be fiddling with some of the options so don't be alarmed if a few things morph a bit. :)

Yes, I believe this script to be pretty solid, it's one of the stated goals of the application.

I dunno, buttons or simple text for the links like reply, read, etc?

Hmmm, hard to say. I don't have a strong preference.

And it would be great, but not all that important, if there were icons showing swatches of color rather than text.

???????? You mean below the text input area? I think some people wanted that so it would be more like DV. It may be individually configurable, there are a lot of options that each person can tweak for their own account.

Now, rather than seeing that text as bold in my preview windows (the window I'm typing in right now) I see the HTML tags for bold.

Yep. I'll see if that's a settable item. I like a rich text window too.

Shrink/expand header on the main page is a nice touch.

I'm liking the interface overall. LOTS of features but not really overwhelming visually.

You can set this in your user options, but I believe it's off by default. Also, now that this is split accross pages, you can go right to the last page from the index, similar to DV.

Just testing to make sure I have it right.  ;D   Also, the reply button is so faint I had trouble seeing it at first.

Font in the reply window is a bit too small for those who don't have the exact Rx glasses.  :o

Seems one can insert all sorts of crap into messages, including various scripts, which I imagine will ended up being disabled due to security threats it might pose.

I think you can set this in the options in your Profile page somewhere, but I bekieve it's already the board default.

Andy, I really don't have any interest in engaging in conversation with you.  There's really no way to know for certain if people were 'put off' other people because of the rampant handle-jacking on DV. However, you have the opportunity to redeme yourself on DS.....by registering, and being accountable for what you say.   I suppose everybody deserves that opportunity.
