well Europe is in Love with Montreal at the moment, Rolling Stone called Arcade Fire the saviour of rock music. They restarted the indie wave. Broken Social Scene [a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uev2J_cBHjQ"]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uev2J_cBHjQ[/a]
Oh yes, lots of bands out of Canada. Nothing too revolutionary to me. Arcade Fire sounds like early 80s new wave to me. Matthew Good sounds like he is crying, or about to cry in every song.
I never think of too many Canadian bands coming out with much original music...is this the wrong thread for this?
I just remember the 90s. Seattle had about 10000 amazing bands...Vancouver had 54-40...
yeah where have you been? Granted its been more Toronto and Montreal but some Vancouver acts are getting recognition. But yeah if you like music Canada has the 'hottest' scenes Arcade Fire started it, then the Broken Social Scene guys and its off shoots Feist, Stars, Metric, then there's Malajube, Wolf Parade, Teagan and Sara, Matthew Good I could go on.
