My first post on DV was a serious question about why the 2006 Canadian Olympic hockey team had black in their jerseys. It made them look like the Imperial German team from 1912.

I immediately realized that there was no point in asking serious questions there, and quickly employed the troll side of my personality that is ideally suited to DV.

I still have no idea why Canada put a colour into its jerseys that has nothing to do with its national colours. Same thing with Italy, whose jerseys were blue.

Or a sadistic one.

I've got to say that complaining about DV here is getting old.

It's like purposely going into the worst part of town and then complaining to the police that you got robbed and beaten up by the transvestite hooker you were doing coke with.

 Lise's definition covers it, but:

A Blackberry is a smartphone, but not all smartphones are Blackberrys. Blackberry is a specific piece of equipment, or the technology/software/service related to the company who makes that equipment.

You can have smartphones that do what Blackberry does without being a Blackberry. There are different ways to send and retrieve e-mail, and some companies are making a killing with their Blackberry charges.

T-Mobile operates its own networks, which were set up when T-Mobile was Deutsche Telekom, and gives you an option between the Blackberry system and their own.

Here's the real killer:  in order to take advantage of all of this crap, you have to sign on to two plans. In otherwords, it's like having two bloody phones, because you have to choose a plan to talk to people, and a plan to use the e-mail and web and other fun stuff. The companies justify this by coyly suggesting that you are going to use this thing instead of your computer, and therefore it's just like paying for your online access in addition to the phone service...  ....   .....  .... Thieving bastards.

The reality is that all phone companies realize that it is becoming increasingly impossible to get money for actually talking to people, so they are taking it out of the data services. (Yes, you can now use Skype to make calls on some smartphones,)

But why not simply admit that the pay-to-talk era is over, and just charge people what you would to use your general services? What seems disingenuous is the "double-dip while we can get it" approach that all companies are currently taking.

Trollina is the more "endowed" between us, to the point of considering reduction. She's not ridiculously big, but big enough for them to be more of a pain than it's worth. Happy women are far more important than endowed ones, so I support whatever she wants to do.

I do not favour reduction for myself.

ANYWAY, regarding phones... people seem to think this Dash phone is the best all-round phone. They never make one that works for everyone, and it's practically a part-time job finding out which one is the best one for you.

Size does not matter to me, but it can be fun. I got lucky. On both sides.

DV is madness unleashed. Only those of us whose disgustometers were maxed out and broken years ago dare venture there. But there are and have been worse places. It's no place to go for a nice friendly interaction.

You are safe here; the community looks after itself.

Welcome.
