Title: Sports
Post by: None on Feb 24 09 09:51
Any sports freaks here?

I play hockey 3 times a week through the winter.

Spring/Summer I play soccer.

The Maple Leafs are the greatest gift to humankind. (Kits will agree)

I also love the Eagles of the NFL.

Enjoy World Cup soccer.

Baseball I love the Jays of course...although I am not sure why?

CFL is good too. Argos all the way.

Raptors! I was always a Pistons fan until the Raptors came into my life.

Of course college sports.  Anything to do with the Wolverines is cool.

I'm guessing nhl is a fan.

I love baseball !  Best baseball memory....92 World Series.  Watching the game at the bar....making a mad dash home to catch the rest of the game, only to find out we had no power.  Poured a couple cocktails, grabbed some blankets and sat in the car and listened to it on the radio.

Just wait until the Leafs win the Cup again!

I'm retired, although people nag me to keep on playing, I quit because I rather read a book.

I don't even lift weights anymore (although I should at this point)

Tennis, sprinting and table tennis were my big things.

Is hiking or walking in the woods considered a sport?

Definitely - if only so that I can add them to my repertoire.

Ah good. That's what I like to do these days. Someday when I'll return to the island, I'll buy a sea kayak.

i hate weights. although my body could use it.

I don't get "retire"?

I will stop playing hockey when I am in my grave. Even then, I may rise and continue to play.

when I mean 'retired' I don't play organized team sports anymore.
If I do play its something in passing and not permanent.

- Rowing to compete in the Corporate Regatta.

- basketball and volleyball - used to play but not anymore.  I was really good in basketball and loved it but I'm really rusty now.

*raises hand*
I've played on shinny teams.  Been a while, though.

Used to do sprints, long jump, volleyball competitively.
Today my only competitive sport is taekwondo.

Recreationally, I hike, ski, weights, rollerblade, sometimes run.  Occasional wall climbing.  Would like to do outdoor climbing again.

Recreational activites are a different category. I like Yoga. keeps me lean and flexible.

Tennis is something I would like to try.

P.C.- I remember the '92 World Series.  Atlanta Braves.  The politically incorrect tomohawk swinging and chanting.  Surely, it still doesn't go on today?!

Yeah, the Braves fans!

92 and 93! I was young and enjoyed it, but I never knew folks on the west coast cheered on the Jays. I thought it was all Mariners.

There will be no World Series for the Jays for a long time, if ever. Oh well, you have to stand beside your team.

Lots of Jays fans out here.  Go Canada.
(not a baseball fan myself.  I go to games to drink and do the wave)

That was the best team the Jays ever had, during that time.

Has anyone ever played Wally-Ball ?  I miss playing that.  Used to play baseball as well up til a few years ago.

I suck at tennis. If it was a game about how far you could hit the ball, I'd be very good at it. (http://discoverseattle.net/forums/richedit/smileys/Happy/12.gif)

 Me too.  Height and distance.
I suck at golf, too.  Maybe if I combined the two (hit a tennis ball using a racquet on the golf course)...

any Lions fans here?

i play sports, but really find it entertaining to watch too. I hate TV except for sports and documentaries. TSN is the best. National Geographic channel is sweet.

I am bitter about the Canucks bringing Sundin to town to score the winner on us. arrghh!!

  God i am bored today!

It's like Volley Ball, but it's played in a closed court...like a squash or racket ball court.  So the shots are banked off the walls.  Ceiling and back walls are out of bounds....side walls are in play.  It's a faster paced game than Volley Ball.
