Blue that is a gigantic photo, have you tried cropping it and shrinking  it ? ... I am not sure if that is a cute baby or not... some one with more  experiance will have to tell me..

The happy face you used to censor the photo, should appease the tinypic mods...  You seem like a happy child, goes with your posting personality, you usually seem to be happy.

Such a cute pic Lil_Me, you were the very essence of charm and the centre of a party. Such very chubby cheeks :) my gram-mama would of loved to have pinched your cheeks... Such a little chipmunk so much so that you would of matched my high school hedgehog...

You did not stay chubby though LM, you turned into a fine woman...

LOL great Pics TehBorken... digging the sideburns... makes me miss my  hair that much more...sighs If I had money it wouldn't be so bad.. Today I am fat, nearly bald with many grey hairs and very ugly..

Before Graduation prior to 1991. I actually sat still for this drawing way back then & considering I was higher than a kite, I am not sure how I managed that. It was during a time when I still had my long hair, during a time when wearing a  bandanna was normal, back when a person wearing a shell necklace was known to be carting about bales of marijuana. Back in time to when Beck was nearly unheard of. A time when a Black hole sun was still waiting to be born meanwhile the massive quantities of alcohol we consumed to wash down the dry mouth from all the smoked bowls =)

Academe Graduation Photo taken after I had all my hair shaved off. Approximately some time in June of 91 or 92 Regulation Crew Cut... I Still miss my hair. I have even less than when this photo was taken these days and it is lots more grey in it..

I have not taken a photo since The DV meet, no one saw the pain I was in, I arrived  late by cab and left early by cab, thus no one would see my unsteady walking abilities or see me in pain..

Most of my pics are water damaged but here are a couple semi survivors.

The second one is from one of those photo booths.  The 2nd 3rd and 4th pics (where I actually smiled) are kinda trashed.  I was going for that stunned look. (//forums/richedit/smileys/Happy/4.gif)

I still wear my hair parted on the side, but I just noticed it's the opposite side.

Or maybe I just saw too many missing people posters at the store with those 'aged projected' drawings.

With the net, you no longer have to wonder. There are sites for age progression even some that will show you what your child will look like. Just add your pic and your lovers pic. I actually did that one.. LOL  I was bored and it seemed like fun.

Sorry I can't add any pics. I don't have any of when I was young. I lost all those in a housefire years ago.

Just a few Russ just a few. lol and yeah Natasha is a very lovely young lady. By the way Russ you are soon to be married, your not dead and you are not blind, nothing wrong with looking at the girls just do not go chasing after them and all is all right. It is normal for men to look and appreciate the beauty of a woman.

I posted a recent picture of me only taken a couple of years ago, mind you the photoshopped goat head is a bit of a addition.

Oh please no nudes, Not even by e-mail... None at all.... No nudes... thank goodness my Foster Mum does not know of this place or I just might be horrified to see her post that picture of me in the buff sitting on a big old stuffed English chair with a Sherlock Holmes hat on and nothing else..

Lol Gopher you look a lot like a young lad (Leo) whom attended the same elementary school as us.. such a mischievous glint in your eye in that pic. Just like the one Leo got before releasing a bucket of frogs and snakes in the girls lavatory...

Natasha They are my foster parents, they raised me took me in about the age of 2.5 - 3years old.. They changed my name when they took me in to there care I remember being told I could not call my self ...... any more and had to use the name ..... instead

my foster parents went through the legal proceedings to adopt me from my understanding that was a 7 year arduous court process... they will always be my foster parents I am not of their blood...

Why they have that photo it is because they took it... One of them took it when I was about 5 when they took me to London england... to visit their parents... (  Gramma's house had a fancy old bed on risers and they heated the bed and rooms with a pan of coals they put under it.. Weather it was Mum Or Dad or some one else who took the photo I don't know...

They took you in at 2.5, fought for you for 7 years and you still have the nerve to referr to them as your fosters parents... that's just sad.

Hey thats not fair, you don't know what his relationship with his foster parents was like.

I agree about the nude pics thing... I don't get why parents insist on doing that. It creeps me out a bit. My mom took pics like that of me and shows them to people once in awhile. I just grimace and keep my mouth shut. My mom's kind of crazy though. My sister is quite different with her kids. No nude photos at all. Not even as newborns. She won't let them under dress in public either. My 6 year old niece wants to wear a two piece bathing suit and my sister refuses to let her. I kind of get it... I'm sure there are creeps in the park sometimes watching the kids.

That's true,  I don't. But I also believe I wasn't talking to you about it either, was I ;)  Just seems to me they took him in and fought to keep him so they obviously wanted and loved him. They may not have done the best job with him but at least respect them for attempting to give him some sort of family.

That's embarassing! And that's even worse than taking those pictures to begin with. Why do outsiders need to see your naughty bits?

Photos of your kids there should be none of them in the nude, that being said there is times when a picture is worth a thousand words.. In example

Little Orik 3 years old completely starkers covered in mud head to foot except were he had just removed his nappy, which he had left in the mud... so all you could see of him was his bottom running along the mud flats... his white buttocks the only item that stood out in all that black mud.

I do remember dad making me sit in a blanket the whole trip home, dried mud flaking off all over the place, man was I a mess. I think I had fun, Dad on the other hand was not impressed my memory is very fuzzy on this. I do remember that Mud Flat it went on for miles, talk about a little slice of heaven for a young boy...

It is those pictures that words can never do justice for. But those photos should be for the family only. There is no call for showing those photos to others ever. Talk about grievously embarrassing..

Natasha My Foster parents and I are estranged, somewhat. I left home at 14 for the first time and moved out completely by the time I was 17. I have spent my entire life working in one form or another. I paid rent at home Natasha, my pay cheques that I earned I handed over to my Parents and they handed me an allowance (if i was lucky) I have my reasons for leaving home.

I appreciate my foster parents and all they did or tried to do for me. They are my family and they are not my family...I am the only one of my blood and of my name. I made myself and built all I am and all I own on my own. I did it with nothing but a pair of shoes, a pair of shorts, a tent + sleeping bag a couple of shirts and a torn jacket. A ratty old blue back pack and a half dozen comic books. (all stolen from the squat my first night) I toughed it out and learned. I learned to hate, to Fight and how to survive by any means necessary.

This is something I wrote a number of years ago here on DS

Going home on Christmas eve, after being away for years. having not spoken to my parents in years...  knocking on the door and the person answering was not the family I knew... I was kind of heartbroken to discover my family had moved... I guess I should of called them...

When I was in my teens I ran away from home. For many years I travelled and saw much of Canada and a fair share of the US of A. One lonely Christmas Eve, years later I found myself In Vancouver. I forthwith decided it was time to let bygones be bygones and went home to wish my folks a Merry Christmas.

I walked down the old streets so familiar to me at long last. 4 long years later. I had not seen or spoken to my family in so long a time. There it was my old home. The trees I climbed as a wee child were gone, not even the stumps remained. The car port was a new shade of Grey. The Christmas lights that are normally shining, where not hung.

How strange thought I. No tinsel, or snow flakes, nor home made icicles, hanging in the windows. The house looked dark and foreboding, This is most definitively odd thought I. As I walked up the drive Nice beamer, I thought, I wonder whose that is. Dad drove a Buick you see either that or a ford.

I walked gingerly up the steps to the front door. Taking a deep comforting breath, I knock loudly to announce I am home. A strange Asian man answered the door. Since when did my parents hire a butler, how odd thought I.

Low and behold, the house I once knew. I find had been sold and the man at the door was the new owner. I asked of him, what had happened to the family who lived here before? he said to me, they had moved. I asked for a new address for the people who sold him the house... He said they left with no forwarding address.

Heartbroken I walked away. I did check the phone book to see if I could find my family in their. Sadly they where not listed.

Thus proving One can never go home again.

I ran in to my Foster brother a time later while Pan-handling on Robson  street. Pepper rolling over and meowing at people, me with my kick a pan  handler for a buck sign and a packet full of joints 2 bucks a pop... Big scruffy beard ,denim jeans and cowboy hat & boots. A denim shirt an a 20 lb duster of a jacket

My foster parents and I reconciled a couple of years ago when I nearly died. Natasha I respect them immensely for all they tried to do. Some parts of my heart there is even some love for them. I dare to say I would even cry when they pass on and go to the happy hunting ground or into heaven or where ever the soul goes to when we die.. They are my Foster parents Natasha.

I am not close to them nor they close to me. I am what I am. A single soul  a base born bastard, no family & alone... For them that is best that I left... I had to make my own way. I had effectively been finding my own way since I was 12...

I thank My foster parents for the home and for the morals they instilled in me for the beliefs they tried to teach me. I can not be their son I can not be what I am not. I can not be what they want of me. i am what i am. no more no less. I just am... Like it or hate it. That is, what is and what was. Tomorrow, we shall see, what there is to see, if we get their..

If I ever get married that will be the start of the family... Till then Their is only one family I knew, they took me in. They taught me to steal, to fight, to hunt, to kill or be killed. I tip my hat, I lift my glass a toast to the Family, may they be for now and forever. The Granville Family, they were my brothers and my sisters. We may not be blood but we where closer than blood.

My Foster Parents gave me a chance. they taught me the basics . The Family taught me the rest..

To Orik:

That was very well written and somewhat sad. I wonder sometimes why a person if less willing to own their family when their life didn't go exactly as planned. Not saying that's what you've done. It's just something I wonder about every now and then. Did you ever look back and ask yourself had you done things differently or behaved differently if there would be a stronger closer family bond? I believe no matter how we were raised we can always better the course of others as long as can admit when we're wrong and learn from the mistakes of others.

Nothing is happening With My family and I. We talk on the phone keeping each other up dated on whats going on in our lives. We are not that close but we are not at odds either. I talk to my brother once in a while as well.

I may call them my foster parents on here, cause that is what they are. At the same time, they are also My Mum, My Dad and My Brother. I must admit that it has taken me years to accept that. They are the way they are and I am the way I am.

If anything or anyone was to harm or be a threat to them. I would track down the source of that threat or of potential harm and I would eliminate it. As quickly as I could and I would do so with malice (hatred) in my heart. We may not be close to each other as some other families are Natasha, but despite our difference's, I love them and I am protective of them.

Natasha in all honesty, I would not change my past, not for anything, I love my foster parents, They may not be perfect & I may not love all they do. They may not be what I imagine the perfect family should be. But, I could have never asked for any family that is better. For there is none better than they.

They gave me a name, true they changed what it was originally, but they gave me a family name. A family name I am proud of. They gave me a home in a time they did not have to, they opened there hearts and hearth to a base bastard like me they brought me honour when all I brought them was shame.

They gave me a place I belonged...They are the only family I have. I may or may not have one of my own. I can only hope one day I shall. but I know what I see and the simple truth is, it is doubtful I shall ever have one. If I do one day find myself with a family, with sons & daughters that look up to me for guidance. Well, I can only hope, I can be half as good to them as my father was to me.

My Foster parents put up with a hell, Why they adopted me for a son I will never know.. They did the best they could. I do not hold anything against them. I am what I am no more no less. I was a bastard of a child, a unforgivable little hellion.

My Parents put up with so much crap. I am surprised they did not disown me. Instead they adopted me. I can never understand that, I know what I was like and am astounded they did not throw me in a sack with stones in it and drown me like a rat.

My parents choose to adopt me despite having such a rotten hellion of a child like me, they did some thing even odder yet, they adopted another little bastard. That is the one who became my little brother. Please do not misunderstand me, when I say my foster brother, mother and father or when I reference them as my foster parents. They are all one and the same. They are my family, They are my parents. I just am not much of a son...

There is no excuse or explanations. I am what I am, no more and no less. Thank you for your kind words Natasha. I am like mould I tend to grow... It seems I have grown on you... I am glad to see that you decided not to take the first meeting and that you decided to take the time to get to know me first..... Peace be with you all.

Wonderful post Orik and you're very welcome. I'm happy we've able to warm up to one another. I try to never base anything on first impressions. You never know what that person is going through or having to deal with during the time so if there are negative thoughts/feelings/attiutudes they should be overlooked so a fair impression can be made. Granted, it's hard to do sometimes but more times than not I'm happy with the end result.

So since you grow like mold can we can call you "Moldy Orik"? lol  ;)
Title: Re: When we were young
Post by: Orik on Jun 28 10 12:11
Now now Natasha. It is not mouldy Orik think of it as Mouldy orik as in I broke the Mould. I am one of a kind after all. My mould keeps growing and changing everyday.  The other tripe of mold (pun intended) many are allergic to and in some circumstances it can even be lethal to a person. I may be dangerous at times but I certainly am not lethal. [span style="font-family: Tahoma,arial,helvetica,serif;"]N[/span]ot unless I am in a circumstance that requires the use of lethal force.

You are so sweet Tasha, I must thank you once again for the kind compliments. I can not prevent yo u calling me whatever you like, but I would prefer if you just called me a friend and not as anything else. I will answer to Orik just as easily as anything else.

HI Pc what has happened to you and many other posters is Tinpic seems to run out of storage for it's photos and they are recycling image addresses that have not been accessed in some time and guess what happens, some body else's photo ends up on the address you had for a completely different photos..

I posted some photos of a Discover Vancouver Club Trucks being broken in to. I had not accessed those photos on the site in some time. when i did I was horrified to discover 90 percent of the photos i had linked where now some strange Asian girl in a bath tub wearing some baubles and not much else.. good looking woman but they most definitely were not what I posted..

You might wish to open an account with some other sites to prevent your photo's from being recycled

I like my sweats and torn up old runners.. one other problem they don't make clothing my size i have not yet found pants my size the big and tall has some but they charge almost a c note for 1 pair and they fall apart after 3 lousy months bloody cheap crap not worth the money they charge..

With the reinvention of style one would think that type of respect would make it's way back into the mainstream. Instead we have kids looking more like trashy adults. What's worse is some adults actually think it's cute.

The over sexualization of children.. it is rather disgusting the girls  look up to their music artists and buy the clothing they sell, clothing  way to sexual of nature, off the should tank tops, really short to show  belly buttons.. trashy t-shirts with risqué slogans and other things on  them.. let's not forget Thong panties...

like what the hell kids grow up to damn fast as it is with out the  influence of famous music artists shovelling this crap on them.

anyways a online article I have not read yet [a href="http://cafephilos.wordpress.com/2008/06/02/the-sexualization-of-children-and-adolescents/"]can be found here[/a]

True but then again, designers have kids in mind when marketing their new lines which is just as wrong. When school started I noticed a lot of black clothing for kids. What happened to kids wearing nice colors? It's hard to shop for clothes if you don't want your kid to look like they're in mourning or in a rap video.

Black does seem to be in right now.........as for how KIDS dress is that still not an item we do have alot of controll over.....if you say no to trash clothing then you kids do not look like 12 going on 21 - for girls and for boys they do not need shirts that are with guns or other crap like that on them........

Black should never be "in" for kids... imo. And yes we do have control over what kids wear. That's not the point. The point is when manufactorers are putting out a mass quantity of a certain style of clothing, it leaves some parents not much to choose from.

That's right we can and some do. So when those parents say no, what type of clothing selection do they have left? Not much. Why? Because designers are making clothing for kids that look too seductive. I've seen mothers grab clothes that only an adult should be wearing and say "oh it's so cute". My thing is, how is it cute? Just because the child doesn't have the figure to fill it out it's "cute"? How about no?! Kids need to continue to look like kids. There's plenty of time to look like an adult when they actually are an adult.

I think the spelling is Wear that out, D, I recently spent time studying the where's as in over there... to wear new clothing, to buy new wares and the we are we're. then their is the weirs which are fish traps and low dams kind of like sluice gates in ponds, it looks like it should be pronounce wears but is pronounce weirs as in tears.

I have loads of trouble with the there, their and they're  I also have some problems with to, two and too..The English language can really be a pain and give headaches when trying to learn something new. there is also the where're theirs there's to add additional confusion to things.   sighs such as pain with English, a constant headache of confusin.

I spent years struggling with English, I spell things phonetically meaning on how they sound, this means I often make spelling mistakes. But because of the wonderful browser Firefox, I have a built in spell-checker to help me correct all the mistakes I make..

and your sort of right to refuse the child specific clothing to wear out. One problem who bought them clothing such as what they wish to wear out. For it should not be the parents buying such revealing clothing...

lol.. Oook well number one - I don't curse at or towards childrens/teens.

Number two - Not all youngsters dress themselves. For many years the parents dress their kids and choose their attire. But when designers make clothing for children that only adults should be wearing well then it doesn't leave many choices for the parent who wants a more conservative (age appropriate) look for their child. As for older kids (teens) there are easy ways to compromise with them when it comes to their wardrobe.

Natasha, I couldn't agree more with your thoughts on the adult clothes they make in children's sizes.  I've seen black tubey type tops with sequins even.  But worse still, is they sell BRA and panty sets for little girls.  That's right. Sizes 5, 6, 7 and so on, in little girls.  They are not training bras, they are actual little girls lingerie.  What the ....?

I hate seeing training bras with padding in them too. They're kids! Save the padding for someone who actually has boobs and needs the lift.

Lol OMG Natasha  that is just such a cute picture of you..

Thank you for sharing this... it made me smile cause I remember seeing that exact same look on my younger brothers face when he was trying to say he was innocent when in fact he was guilty as sin of whatever the crime was.. i think it was for either crushing the flower garden or of thieving some cookies..

I do not remember exactly what crime it was probably the flowers cause it was I who stole them cookies. peanut butter cookie with a melted chocolate piece in the middle ever so yummy I scarfed 4 of them thinking mum would never notice considering she had made like 100 of em

That is A look of innocence and purity... A look that says who me it could not of been me... I am completely innocent a total angel and most certainly not guilty of said discretion...

Was crushing the flower garden a normal occurance?

From the stories I've heard of my childhood and from what I can remember it's safe to say I definitely was a source of some mischievous behavior. It's bound to happen when you're the only girl in a male dominated family. No one ever got hurt (on purpose) and it made for a somewhat fun childhood so I can't complain.

I tend to be more sensitive towards others who are avoided. They're usually the ones I befriend first. So something good did come out of my torture. Plus I have family members who are challenged. They helped teach me what to really look for in humanity.
