ISIS expelled all Christians (http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Peace/2014/07/20/Islamic-States-Claims-Deadly-Baghdad-Bombings-and-Purge-of-Mosul-Christians) from the historic city over the weekend after the people were told to convert to Islam, pay a tax, or die. The majority of Christians left with only the clothes on their back, and ISIS marked homes with an "N" for Nazarene. ISIS is also cutting off water supplies (http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Peace/2014/07/22/ISIS-Cutting-off-Water-Supply-to-Christians-Kurds-in-Regions-They-Do-Not-Control) to Christian and Kurd communities they do not control.

Also, the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIS) told shopkeepers in Mosul the mannequins must wear veils. The veil is in accordance with Sharia law (http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2014/jul/22/isil-forces-iraqs-shopkeepers-veil-mannequins-mosu/) since "the human form is not depicted in statues or artwork." Both gender of mannequins are to wear the veil.

But back then, now was then, and now was in the future. Of course, now 'then' was back then, and was the past. In the future, now will also be in the past, as will then. But by then, then will be now and then will be the present. The future present, not the current present.

So, soon, when now is later, the then now will be then, and now will still be in the past. But by then we won't have to worry, because it will be now, and I've already told you what happened.

Every now and then you need to remember which now, which then, how long until then is now, or how long ago then then was now.

Then you can say that you did know now what you knew then. Of course, when you say now then, it will be a different now than now, because it will be then.

It's all very complicated now, but by then it will make perfect sense.

After 10 years we finally broke down and decided to get a new TV. Now we just have to find a place to put this behemoth. (The old old old one is on the top, the new one (55") is on the bottom.) $479 for a 55" TV at Best Buy.

We were (literally) wheeling this giant f*cking box out the door at Best Buy last night and the door guard guy asked us to show him our receipt...we just said "no thanks" and kept on going.

I thought this was a little interesting....

You may have heard the term, "the internet of things", and this item below is a perfect example. It's a bike lock that has Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, keyless entry via a iOS or Android mobile app, and motion sensing capabilities.

Tech is cheap and I expect we'll see lots of ordinary things being outfitted with various enhanced sensors and communication capabilities. It's inevitable, really.

It's solar-powered so the battery gets charged whenever it's in light. The maker, Velo Labs, says one hour of sunlight can give the lock enough charge to last a week, while a fully charged battery can last a month or longer.

If the bike is moved, stolen, or even nudged when you are away from it the lock can alert you using Bluetooth or Wi-Fi capabilities. Users can then alert the authorities and direct them to the site where the bike is being stolen or stripped. And that's not the extent of the motion sensors on the lock: Bikers involved in a crash might well have their lives saved by the Skylock, as it can judge the severity of impact and call an ambulance if necessary.

It's $250 (!!) now but I can see where this would come down to a $50 ~ $75 range.

Bad food doesn't begin to describe it. It was an absolute gag-fest, not a single thing there was good. All the food is stale and cold, and tastes like shit to be blunt. We both feel sick now. When we went in it was almost empty, and there's a reason for that. The reason is that Super Buffet in Northgate SUCKS.

Gross food, gross, gross, GROSS. Stale fries, stale chicken, stale cake, fat-encrusted ribs, just f*cking dreadful shit.

When they call now first I haggle over the price. When they fail to satisfy me (lol) I tell them if they can answer 3 questions, I will purchase their services. I also tell them that if they get within 10% of the right answer (or close, for non-numeric questions) I'll consider it a correct answer. None of them have ever managed to answer a single on correctly, even with the 10% fudge-factor. I tell them that if I hear them Googling the answer, I'll hang up. ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) -- A father and son who went diving on Christmas Day with new equipment the boy got for a present have been found dead in an underwater cave at a north Florida wildlife refuge.

The Hernando County Sheriff's Office said Thursday that Holly King called authorities after her fiance, Darrin Spivey, and his 15-year-old son Dillon Sanchez didn't return home after a planned dive in the 300-foot deep Eagle Nest Sink cave about an hour and a half north of Tampa.

A sign near the entrance to the cave reads: "Cave diving in this area is extremely dangerous -- even life threatening!! Do not dive unless you are a certified cave diver!!"

According to the sheriff's office, the 35-year-old Spivey was a certified diver; however, he was not a certified cave diver. They say Sanchez was not a certified diver.

I have competitors in certain web interests I manage. They don't usually last very long, maybe a year or so.  Basically, I see 'em come and I see 'em go...and when they go, I usually try to snap up their domain name and point it to whatever site of mine they were competing with (not this site).

So, another competitor just bit the dust, and I tagged their domain to participate in the auction for it. Some n00b had placed an opening bid, which you should never do (all it does it alert serious bidders like me that someone else is interested). Tsk, tsk.

The auction drew to a close and with 15 secs remaining I placed a slightly higher bid.

Doing that extends the auction's closing time by 5 minutes, so I waited around for 5 minutes watching to see if they would counter-bid. But they were asleep or busy or not paying attention and I won the auction. I got the domain for about 1/20th of what it probably would have gone for if they'd had a chance to keep bidding.

Oh well...ya snooze, ya lose. 

Heh, caught this in one of the spam traps. This is what happens when a spammer tries to use an "article spinner" program without really understanding it. Instead of loading the one snippet he wanted run in his spam-blaster program, he selected the entire set of available spam templates in his little spam library. lol

To try and avoid spam filters the article spinner generates lots of slightly different emails based on a given template, and the variations come from the lines with the "|" symbol. For example, in this line:

one of the words in the string "take hold of|grab|clutch|grasp|seize|snatch" would be randomly picked and used for each email sent. The same for "right away|immediately", and so on.
