Title: "Shoot A Pilot"
Post by: TehBorken on May 30 07 05:30
Director Mike Figgis spent la ot longer at LAX airport than intended. He had arrived in Los Angeles, along with half the acting and directing world, for what is known as 'pilot season', when the big studios try out new scripts, directors and actors in a two-week frenzy of auditions and career make-or-breaks.

When Figgis was being grilled by the [span style="text-decoration: line-through;"]idiots[/span] friendly folks at airport immigration, he was asked the purpose of his visit. Unthinking and tired after a long flight, Mike replied: 'I'm here to shoot a pilot.' The airport officials in California, film capitol of the world, had apparently never heard the term 'pilot' as it's commonly used in the movie industry. (!!!)  Mike was immediately hustled off for some in-depth interrogation.  After five hours in an interrogation cell (yes, really), he finally made it into town.
