What [strong style="font-style: italic;"]AM I missing ?

I was watching a nature documentary and it brought back memories.  As for your questions, I did already answer it. Wounded or dying creatures -- including humans -- can quickly become meals for a range of scavengers.  It's a well known fact. I'm surprised that anybody would be surprised by that.  I'm alive and well and I'm not complaining. Just sharing a memory that, truth be told, is not a particularly uncommon kind of experience in many parts of the world.

Once, animals had a go at me when I was lying wounded on the side of a road. It somehow didn't seem real when it was happening.  As a nature documentary commentator said, "Nature, in her wisdom, provides an efficient industry of scavengers to cull the dead or near dying from her lush bounty."

There's a fine line between a good deed and spam.

Linking into a site of interest is not spam.  You're enjoying discoverseattle, and I know I am.  Why?  It is well administered.  Are you familiar with the concept of give and take, Tenkani?  Most people just seem to understand take and take.  Besides,  it is good sense.  Good Google Ad$ense.  The pre$ence of Google ads suggests that is part of the objective, no?

The numbers speak for themselves:

Traffic Rank for discovervancouver.com:  22,426             Traffic Rank for discoverseattle.net:  2,287,189
458 sites  linked to  discovervancouver.com:                            10  linked to  discoverseattle.net:

I propose that everybody place the [a href="http://www.discoverseattle.net"]www.discoverseattle.net[/a] onto at least twenty sites, the objective being that at least 500 sites link into Discover Seattle.  This radically will increase the DS's traffic.

It doesn't take a fortune teller to see where the traffic will head, how the tide will turn. DV is as is like Rush Limbaugh. He may have had his time in the fart-fueled light during the dark ages, but now, in the light of day, he's exposed for what he is -- a foul and putrid conservative slug with a trail of slime around him, just like Scooter Libby. In the same way, DV is exposed for what it is -- a cesspool of bigotry, hypocrisy, and stupidity.  I still hate George W. Bush and neo-Conservatives, and hated them even when they were hot, because they're bad for American and bad for the world. They're helping China take over, by making the world turn away from America in disgust. But now the tide is turning. I was right. You were wrong. Americans are finally seeing the light of day. DV is like Richard Nixon. DS is like John Kennedy. DV is stagnant, uninspiring, ugly, and hateful. DS, on the other hand, is vibrant, intelligent, and hip.

PayPal sucks, IMHO. I've had a number of hassles with them.

The Official PayPalSucks Page: [a style="font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;" href="http://paypalsucks.com/"]http://PayPalSucks.com/[/a][br style="font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;"][br style="font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;"][a style="font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;" href="http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=paypal+sucks&btnG=Google+Search"]Yes, PayPal Sucks[/a] - 1.1 million web pages can't be wrong.

If it does, it is certainly no more than other systems.  They're all looters.  Important and necessary looters (as are many other parasites in our lives) but looters, nonetheless.  Those "service charges" (or whatever name they're arbitrarily given) are justified by lies, plain and simple. I know -- I was in the business. (Problem is, I'm too honest for that kind of work, not being a sociopath).  PayPal is actually a better and deal than other systems out there (and quite versatile and user-friendly, too).
Here's an example of sentiments expressed about another system (as good a system as any out there, but with detractors, as they all have)

I have some experience in the merchant banking business. All merchant banking systems have their pros and cons. PayPal is one of the better ones in my book and just as safe as the others, if not safer.

Yep, that is the floor rate for a feature script, established by the WGA.  Contests can help people get into that exclusive little club.

Generally speaking, a producer gains the copyright once the film is being produced, and the writer loses it.  Payment for short film scripts is typically zero to minimal (been there, done that), the film is badly directed, and the original writers have no rights to the money pot if the script is later developed into a feature film.  In this contest, the film will be directed by an award-winning professional director, and the writer will have ownership rights (producer credit) if is developed into a feature film.

An impressive short film on the film festival circuit can lead to big things.  For example, the horror film Saw was originally an 8-minute short film.  It made such waves in film festivals that the filmmakers were able to get it developed into a feature, and the feature was such a hit that two sequels were made.

probably but then again the girl doesn't care anymore, heck niether does the guy. lol.  Dating now consists of hooking up a few times randomly at a party and then the day after going hey you want some coffee? lol

And that is different from the past how?

If anything, people are probably are more careful nowadays, having a morbid fear of AIDS, anti-biotic resistant syphilis (fairly new strains of the disease) and suchlike (very justified fears).  BTW, just to cheer you up, herpes (cold sores) has been link to Alzheimer's disease: [a href="http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/medicalnews.php?newsid=4628"]http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/medicalnews.php?newsid=4628[/a]

Speaking for myself, when pretty ladies come on to me (alas, doesn't happen as much as it used to), after the primitive caveman-type reaction (when I can barely resist excitedly pounding on my chest), my second reaction is something akin to fear (Who else has she been coming on to? What diseases does this lovely lass harbor?).

Glad to see that people are leaving that cesspool of degeneracy and idiocy at DV and switching over to DS, a higher calibre and more intelligent forum.

That is bloody weird. Cow are herbivores (vegans).  My wild guess is that feathers sort of have the conistency of hay.

I remember looking up who wrote Nancy Drew and was astounded to discover that it was several authors using the same pen-name, thus explaining why the same author -- Carolyn Keene -- could write some books that were of professional caliber and other books that were downright amateurish and shoddy.
