Now to me ???...THAT'S architecture ! (not one of my faves....but nice just the same) You can have ALL the rest. Most of these modern monstrosities have no art....no craftsmanship......they leave me cold. The 'needle' in Dubai...the Aqua in Chicago.....they just don't do it for me.
hmmm you like that building too? cool!
That building though would work better in a place like Montreal though, too many glass towers around in Vancouver.
That building is part of the "Seven Sisters" in Moscow
Hotel Ukraina still the tallest hotel in Europe.

hahaha
well I can't find any good pics of Kurfürstendamm

its funny, last people who tried to make super tall structures look interesting were the soviets. Besides Burj Al Arab, everything else is predictable and boring.

I really enjoy Temples... like the Budda Temple in Richmond...Taj Mahal is gorgeous.
That futuristic pic you posted, SD, looks like a hedgehog...mmmm...hedgehogs! LOL!
We watched a program last night....and I wished I had paid better attention. It was about the building of a temple of worship in India.....and it was all built without modern structural technology. Each piece of stone was carved by hand....and pieced together with the precision of degrees measured in the thickness of 2 credit cards. It was ALL stone....and hand carved to fit with uncanny precision. The end results were breath-taking. (I can't find anything on Google...grrrr)
I like the modern and the ancient buildings.
