Me too. I'm shocked that she finally got what she deserved- jail time, just like you or I would get for the same offense.
He said the sentence was "uncalled for, inappropriate and bordered on the ludicrous."
Hardly. If I drive without a license, I go to jail. And unlike Paris Hilton, I can't afford to hire a limo if my license is suspended.
"I think she's singled out because of who she is," Weitzman said.
Oh, that's right. I always forget that mega-wealthy "celebrities" are always treated more harshly by the law than ordinary folks.

I can see it - sure, probably quite a few people were wrongly incarcerated, even executed, in the last 40 years for crimes they were later shown not to have committed - but they were likely not very well-dressed, nor well-coiffed, so they were probably used to it.

I've permenantly boycotted Hilton hotels because of her. I'm surprised her parents haven't stepped in and said stop it earlier because she's always linked to the hotel chain.
It's a pity she weren't REALLY linked to some chain or other - then again, it may be coming soon.

well she represents the brand name even if they deny it. Everytime they mention her on tv the hotel is always attached.

I think the biggest crime here is that she has achieved celebrity status for being a rich, spoiled, party animal.....although that is not really her crime.
well she achieved celebrity status because somebody released a really bad sex tape weeks before her tv show was going to air. There by getting her in the news and interest into her tv show which got good ratings and the rest was history.
Paris is probably more interested in Tiffani chains than her own hotel chains! ;)

No hate here QE. My point was more to the effect that people don't become celebrities without peolple like 'you and me'. If she has achieved this status.....'we' have put her there.
If people wanted to raise me to celebrity status for just doing what I like to do....is that my fault....or their fault. I think it just gets tiresome to watch this cycle repeatedly.....raise people up....slap 'em down.
I personally don't think that anyone should be glorified for nothing more than a lifestyle.....so I try not to contribute to it, by watching shows or buying products that promote or support them.

Um....I don't think I'm implying that I'm better than anybody (at least that wasn't my intention). Again I was merely pointing out that 'we' complain about the Paris Hiltons of the world, when they are in fact made by 'us'. That's all. A person can not become famous alone.
Ah, she'll get it fixed somehow. The 45-day sentence was extreme. I'd have given her 5 days in jail for breaking the probation plus enforced public service like Naomi Campbell (assaulting her maid), Boy George (falsely reporting a burglary at his Manhattan apartment and drug charges), and now Snoop Dogg (felony gun and drug charges) had to do.
