Title: Kidney a Marital Asset ?
Post by: P.C. on Jan 14 09 08:54
[P class=first]A US man divorcing his wife is demanding that she return the kidney he donated to her or pay him $1.5m (£1m) in compensation.  Dr Richard Batista told reporters that he decided to go public because he was frustrated at the slow pace of divorce negotiations with his estranged wife.

She can claim her heart back from him and demand lots of $$$$ for stealing it away in the first place.

Good point purelife.

A 'donation' of any kind is non-refundable as far as I know. Also, contractually, I'm sure when he gave it, it was pretty clear it was not a loan....unless she signed some kind of promissory note that says otherwise.

The good doctor claims that she cheated on him after he gave her a kidney and won't allow him to see his sons after they separated.....it all part of the divorce postulating.  Wouldn't surprise me if his attorney came up with the idea

I saw the story on the news the other day. It just makes me think of how petty a human can be. For goodness sake, this is a kidney - it's not like you can get it back. Stupidity and greed at its best.
