I read an article, [A href="http://www.searchmagazines.com/news/news-62.html"]The Untold Story: Who Really Won The Iraq War?[/A]. The article says that the real winners are large corporations, especially those friendly with the US gov't. I agree with the article... Seems like no one won the war except corporate America.

There's a [A href="http://www.searchmagazines.com/news/news-63.html"]CIBC report[/A] saying that the TSX will cross 15,000 by the year's end. Though I'd like to agree, I believe that the report downplays the role of the US subprime sector and it's affect on the Canadian economy. I believe that there's potential for another major correction before the year is up.

The [A href="http://www.virtualvancouver.com/news/news-56.html"]Vancouver Canucks are getting new uniforms[/A]! What do you guys think of the new uniforms?

H&M, a Swedish fashion clothing store, is set to open in Vancouver. Guess it's all part of being an Olympic international city. Maybe we'll have Harrod's will open next. :) [A href="http://listings.findfeedback.com/1002/138.html"]Read full story[/A].

[A href="http://listings.findfeedback.com/1009/137.html"]Intel is coming out with new 'green' cpus[/A] to replace their celeron cpu. These new cpus will be using much less power in an effort to 'go green'.

I read a biased article claiming that [A href="http://listings.findfeedback.com/1001/134.html"]Markets Can Only Go Up[/A]. In some ways this article makes sense. There's still so much liquidity in the market that it's hard to imagine the markets not shooting back up. If anything goes wrong the Fed steps in and lowers interest rates to increase liquidity.

What's a trans-pod you ask? Something you saw on a Star Trek episode? Wrong!

[A href="http://www.virtualvancouver.com/news/news-53.html"]Vancouver buses[/A] are soon going to be equipped with wireless internet access so commuters can use their notebooks or PDAs to get the latest bus information, track bus movement, find out waiting time for bus before it arrives, etc.

A family dog, Rottweiller, held a black bear at bay while four kids were stuck up in their treehouse when a bear wandered into their yard in British Properties. [A href="http://www.virtualvancouver.com/news/news-54.html"]Full news story[/A]. The bear was trying to get to the family's plum tree. In the end the bear got some plums and then left after being scared off by the dog and the kid's mom.

That is one great dog... wish I had a brave and courageous dog like that.

Discover Seattle! / UFC Fight
Aug 21 07 01:26
There's a highly anticipated [A href="http://listings.findfeedback.com/1000/133.html"]UFC fight: Georges "Rush" St. Pierre (GSP) vs. Josh Koschek[/A] coming up soon. Is anyone going to be watching this fight? Who do you think will win?

[A href="http://www.virtualvancouver.com/news/news-49.html"]Central banks worldwide injected billions of dollars into the banking system[/A] in an effort to help ease investor worries about the credit crunch. This is all in response to falling world stock markets. Markets have been declining for the past 2 weeks over US sub-prime mortgage fears. It seems that the sub-prime mortgage problems may spill over into other parts of the economy.

I think that there may be a serious buying opportunity being created. Lots of stock I follow are down 40-50% in just 2 weeks. Imagine when they rebound, the returns will be huge. At least I hope they rebound.

An 87 year-old chinese man was attacked while riding the bus. [A href="http://www.virtualvancouver.com/news/news-48.html"]Vancouver news story here[/A].

I find it difficult to believe that there would be racist attacks in this day and age, yet alone the fact that someone would try to beat up a defenseless 87 year-old. Some people are just so crazy. Too bad the bus driver and passengers didn't catch up to the attacker and send him to the hospital.

A [A href="http://www.virtualvancouver.com/news/news-45.html"]cougar attacked a 12-year-old boy[/A] who was out camping near Kamloops, BC. Some stranger came and fought off the cougar. When I go hiking I'm always a little worried about wild animal attacks such as from cougars or coyotes. Anyone ever been attacked while camping or hiking by a wild animal? And I don't mean attacked by your date. :)

In [A href="http://www.virtualvancouver.com/news/news-46.html"]vancouver news[/A] an aggressive panhandler beat-up and stole money from an old senior citizen inside a downtown church. How low is that? On top of it the old guy has been giving $5 to the homeless guy everyday for the past week. I hate aggressive panhandlers.

In [A href="http://www.findnewspapers.com/news/news-44.html"]financial news[/A] world markets fell today... there were steep declines such as 4% in Asia. Wonder if we're enterring a bear market?

Anyone taking Avandia? [A href="http://www.findnewspapers.com/news/news-42.html"]FDA may call for pulling of Avandia[/A] from the market as one research paper shows a connection to increase risk of heart failure.

I read the [A href="http://www.virtualvancouver.com/news/news-38.html"]daily news[/A] about the Burnaby oil spill.   Anyone affected by the oil spill? Will home insurance cover the costs of the clean-up? What about the people responsible, shouldn't they have to pay for cleanup?

The [A href="http://www.virtualvancouver.com/news/news-37.html"]TSX fell almost 400 points[/A] today. Do you think we're enterring a bear market or is this a buying opportunity?

The [A href="http://www.virtualvancouver.com/news/news-26.html"]US Senate couldn't pass a vote[/A] to pull out US troops. I think it's very wrong that soldiers have to suffer and be put at risk b/c of political fighting. If the majority of Americans wants to bring their troops home then the governing body should comply with their wishes.

Discover Seattle! / Conrad Black
Jul 18 07 02:30
I read that [A href="http://www.virtualvancouver.com/news/news-27.html"]Conrad Black isn't going to recieve any special treatment[/A]. I think it's great that a guy who scammed money and became a multi-millionaire can't use his influence to get out of jail free.... Maybe he should have hired OJ's attornies.
