Title: Fake eggs with plants inside
Post by: TehBorken on Mar 21 06 10:27
Kind of a cool idea.......

Fake eggs with plants inside
Egglings are ceramic eggs with seeds. They're $8.95 each and are available seeded with lobelia, phlox, thyme, mint, and petunia (seen here). From the ELSEWARES product description: [blockquote] [img]http://www.boingboing.net/images/eggling.jpg" alt="Eggling" align="left" border="1" height="180" hspace="4" vspace="4" width="271"]These ceramic EGGLINGS look and feel just like real eggs. Just crack one open, add water, and you've created a springtime oasis for your desk or window (even if it's winter outside). Each comes with a terra cotta tray and seed pack. Growing is EASY — plants thrive for months in their shell and can be replanted in soil. Sold individually.[br clear="all"][/blockquote][a href="http://www.elsewares.com/commerce/Egglings_MPD324.html"][span style="text-decoration: underline;"]http://www.elsewares.com/commerce/Egglings_MPD324.html[/span][/a][em][/em]

Ah, how cute. I've seen these itty bitty things at Toys R Us that claim to spell out a message once the plant is grown from a seed. The things they come up with these days.
