Title: Dearest in Christ
Post by: tenkani on Apr 02 07 03:52
So, I've noticed over the past year or so a change in the phishing emails I've been getting.

Many of them now seem to focus on God, and being a good Christian.

Just curious whether anyone else has noticed the same thing, and what you think it means.

An example, this just popped in my box a few minutes ago. I'll just include the first and last para because the rest pretty much goes as expected...

  Dearest in Christ,

It is with Heavy Heart I am reaching you regarding the death of my late
client. I am BARRISTER Mike Douglas, the legal adviser to late MR. MIKE
& CAROL HALL, A very Wealthy Couple that lived here in the United
Kingdom, before their Death on the 26th of December 2004 during the
Tsunami disaster. These couple served God as very dedicated Christians,
they so dedicated their life to God but they had no child till they
died. They acquired a lot of landed properties like lands, Stocks/Bond,
house properties, etc.

*chop*

And my favorite part...

Dear child of Zion, if you
know that you will use this fund honestly and wisely for things that
will glorify God's name, then do contact me with the above mentioned
information via my home email ([email protected]) Your Prompt
response will be highly appreciated.

My recent scamming emails had nothing to do with God but it had a lot to do with a wealthy business man living in Nigeria.

I've never gotten such spam....ever...

maybe you give your email to some discussion about Religion, but again I spybot most spammers and popups and worms and Yahoo did the bulk mail thing for me. By any chance, is your account that got such spam a hotmail account?

Hotmail is the worst...

Name on the account matters for the spammer, something to do with any religious symbols.

Fish could be religious, so does lamb, zen, en(light)en, moon and star, sid(harta), dal(ai lama), khan,

jc murphy... tee hee...

this sounds like a job for.... Scamorama.com for some scamology...or as they say: Why should spammers have all the fun?

and flim flam

the flim flam man...

there are people trying to.... counter attack...apparently

Maybe I heard it here on DV first but with ALL telephone solicitors.... for every call...your immediate response needs to be, "Can you hold on for a second" then put the phone down and go about your biz...I swear...they have stopped calling me.

Ha!! That's priceless!!!!

If you like terrorizing telemarketers there is only one name to remember...

JIM FLORENTINE.

Seriously, look him up with Frostwire or whatever.

Funniest stuffs EVAR!!

He's one of the masterminds behind Crank Yankers, but he was making magic long before that show got off the ground. It takes the sharpest mind imaginable to improvise like he does on the phone!

P.S. Carlos Mencia is a hack.
