[/FONT] [DIV id=GuardianArticleBody]A TV station violated the artistic integrity of two film-makers by interrupting their films with advert breaks, a Swedish appeal court ruled yesterday. Vilgot Sjoman, who died on Sunday, and Claes Eriksson sued the TV4 channel in 2002. The films in question were made before Swedish broadcasting laws allowed breaks in films. The Svea court of appeal upheld a lower court ruling, saying the station had violated the directors' integrity and copyright because they had not given permission for the breaks.
