Russ and his buddies ate at Uncle Willy's a few months back and he said that it was ok for the money you paid.

I haven't been there for over 10 years now but I was never really into buffets.  I always seem to think that the food is more low quality and cheap.

yeah buffets aren't the best. I think they give the urge for people to over eat. Its too hard to stop going back for food sometimes at buffets. Like free beer to an alcoholic.

I drove downtown past Urban Buffet last week and it looked closed.

Lise, how long ago were you at Uncle Willy's in Metroscum?

Last month. We were looking for a place where the kids could eat.... mushy food. You know the type, nothing spicy but something they could chow down on. They actually ate quite a bit but the best part was the dessert for them. Endless ice cream.

Bill Cosby.

Actually, many many years ago, that location wasn't that bad.  Dunno how it is now but if you say it's not that bad it probably isn't any worse.  I do know that the location on Lougheed Hwy near the Coquitlam/Burnaby boarder closed down for a while for health violations.  I don't know if it ever reopened.  Still, UW veggies are frozen and the potatoes are from a package if not mistaken.

Russ

uh. Im with lise on this one. Uncle Willy's. Its not bad once in a while, not the best. If you want healthy food become a vegan, everythings bad for you by todays standards.

The other good buffet is the river rock casino one.. GOOD food. Worth it.

I think River Rock wasn't mentioned earlier?  But, River Rock is not worth the price if you compare it to what is available and the cost with the buffets in the US.  Heck, I dont think River Rock even has beets with their salad.  Tulalip Casino has a phenomenal buffet. However, River Rock is the best bang for your buck buffet in town...which unfortunately doesn't say much.

Lise

Where is Tualip Casino? Can you bring a minor to the buffet?

Oh, those spring rolls look just awful.  I been there and that pic doesn't do the food justice.

Mimi

Lise, do you want to wait three hours in the border line-up to cross the border  plus another 90-120 minutes to get to the casino?

Lil Me

I have cousins who go to the Skagit Casino for king crab.

Any new comments on your favorite buffets?

Lil Me

My kids like Zoopa in Seattle.

MrLM and I find it bland, but it's cheap and healthy.
