 That's quite an illogical statement and your affirmation continues the dismantling of political and societal discourse in this country and elsewhere. Talk is cheap.

If you lose or win in a supposedly democratic society you are still empowered to have your voice heard. Lest we not have tanks rolling in the streets because of the tyranny of the minority or some government official not liking people having different opinions. Even if the Olympics are going ahead, there's nothing that says people can't voice their opinion, and to say that free speech is somehow being a terrorist just confirms the negative perception of public officials while strengthening the phlegmatic society.

Nothing wrong with voicing their opinions....but that's not what they were doing.  They had to re-route the relay around them twice.  It was their intent to be disruptive....in more ways than just talk.

I don't get why they're protesting at this point either....it makes absolutely no sense.

wow, lol, you got me wound up this morning SD.

I agree people can protest and challenge what the government is doing.. cause thats the only way people are kept in check.. if there was no one looking over the shoulders of the government, it would just take a bit more, then a bit more...

I think in this case however protesting wont make a difference as its going ahead no matter what, and the people are protesting just so they can be disruptive.

I think this too Russ.  If something moved me strongly, I'd protest too.  But the time for this one is long passed.  I'm not into it big time at all...but I sure wouldn't go out of my way to ruin it for the people that are.  They aren't making any 'statements' at this point.  It was just rude and selfish to tarnish the event for the kids, families and participants.

If it is a peaceful protest, they are not terrorists.

  Is they are using violence or terrorism in any way as a means of protesting, then they are terrorists.

russ, i never knew the whole story. thank you. yep, they are terrorists and should be treated as such.

kind of makes me think of protestor that used to spike trees, knowing well enough that it could kill a logger.

I kind of agree LfO.  Their purpose was to intimidate...and they did so to the degree that the officials felt it wasn't safe to pass.
