Marxism-Leninism has nothing to do neither with Marx nor Lenin. At the time, the Left oppostion of the Communist Party of Russia that grouped itself around Trosky against the emerging police state of Stalin took the name Bolchevik-Leninist in oppostion to the Stalin clique.
After that, "Troskyist" became the name by default because of the propaganda of the Stalinists against the Marxist opposition, describing them as Trostkyists. Orwell's Hommage to Catalonia had big problem to deal with that, and thats the main weakness of that book. [/DIV]

Where was the problem in the book? I remember Orwell saying what you said, everyone who was precieved against the Communist Party i.e POUM and the Anarchists were then called 'Trotskyist' even if they weren't. Or is it that he didn't mention why this happened is the weakness? I thought he did in the Spanish context of the war.
