At the time the original Battlestar was looked upon as a cheaper version of Star Wars. It's true.

lol. [a href="vny!://www.toonopedia.com/jabbrjaw.htm"]no respect, no respect at all[/a].
curses!

I used to watch Battlestar Gallactica religiously as a little kid. I was completely in love with it. Yes, in THAT way

Anyway, my favorite aspect was the cylons. They were so very very cool. Remember when Starbuck was trapped on a planet with a marooned cylon??? OMG!

so when I heard that they went CGI (great pic BTW), it made me frown.

I've seen a couple episodes...ok, well I've seen pieces of a couple episodes...ok, I walked by the TV once when it was on...

Anyway, the cyclons are CGI so I don't watch it.
For thou art with me; thy cream and thy sugar they comfort me
Thou preparest a carafe before me in the presence of Juan Valdez
Thou anointest my day with pep; my mug runneth over
Surely richness and taste shall follow me all the days of my life
And I will dwell in the house of coffee forever.

Lise

Ah no, Legion. I can totally see that. ST was wayyyyyy better than the original BSG.

I know, I know... CGI replacing our cylons but who cares? The storyline's good. I still love every part of the new BSG.

I saw the episode that you're talking about, tenkani. That was good. Too bad that's the last we will ever see of Starbuck. They replaced Apollo and Starbuck after that.... went downhill from there.

BTW, the original Apollo is a guest star in the new BSG.

Ok ok, Lise. I'll have to check it out.

Is the first season out on DVD yet?

I donno if this applies to the first season only but rent it and play a new drinking game with your friends.

take a drink whenever the doctor (who sees the babe) does something crazy and nobody notices. you take one drink for each blank reaction shot from the other characters.
curses!

Lise

Yep. I saw it at Best Buy. Check it out.

I still haven't gotten my act together to see Firefly. Damn. Been meaning to do that for ages. Am currently hook onto FarScape as well, not to mention STG: Atlantis. Too many good sci-fi stuff out there.

Wah???

Ok, I will grab BSG when you grab Firefly!

Oooh that reminds me, on April 1st, a theatre in Santa Cruz is having this special thingy. Starting at midnight, they show Serenity, then they go on to show every single episode of the TV series. So it ends up being like 17 hours for the price of one admission.

I'm going to try to stay awake for at least 8 hours, but it won't be easy...

Too true indeed. It was a weekly sci-fi fix for ST fans, who "back in our day" couldn't just rent ST over and over. We had to go to a theater each and every time. Remember when your count of how many times you'd seen ST came with real fanboy bragging rights? It became meaningless after it came out on video.

I'm not too upsetover CGI Cylons (great pic BTW), isn't everything these days? I think I would notice a dude in a suit more than the seamless CGI they can do nowadays.
...religion has made some contributions to civilization. It helped in the early days to fix the calendar, and it caused Egyptian priests to chronicle ecplipses with such care that in time they were able to predict them. These two services I am prepared to acknowledge, but I do not know of any others

They've ended Battlestar Gallatica!!! Waaaahhhhhh!!!!! Just wanted to say that. I'll miss the show. Rumors has it that the next season will be the fourth and final (THE HORROR!!!). Three major stars have been revealed to be Cylons. (Totally unexpected)

And Starbuck isn't dead afterall!!! YIPPEEE!!

  Alrighty. Nerd Out.

I never watched the show. What's it about?
To me the most sci-fi-ish I can get is Smallville and other comic book adaptations.
