Bus Transit Question

Does anyone know if there's a bus that takes you directly from Metrotown to UBC? I caught the 48 bus from UBC to Metrotown but am stumped that there's no information on how to get to UBC from Metrotown? (other than catching the skytrain to Broadway then hopped onto the 99 bus to UBC)

Any help would be appreciated.

Hey Lise,

According to Translink's site, there are no buses from Metrotown to UBC. Here are some options. You could also call them at 604-953-3333 for quickest route.

Thanks for your help. It's kinda weird that they would not have a bus route that goes from Metrotown to UBC but there's a bus that goes from UBC to Metrotown. Weird as heck.

Congrats on the job Lise! I hope you're not working in the "sick building" (the one where Shopper's Drug Mart is).

There is a bus from Metrotown to UBC--#49 (Metrotown Bay 3), but it is an hour and some minutes long ride, and that's on a good day. Really, it is quicker to take the Skytrain from Metrotown to either Broadway or Clark Station and take either #99 (Broadway) or #84 (Clark). Both of those routes are about 40 to 45 minutes, although I've heard because of the construction along Cambie there are detour delays for #84.

Thanks for the heads up SD and wyk. I think I will take the skytrain/bus route to UBC as it is quicker.

My mistake, from past postings in other threads I presumed you were going to be working at UBC. The Faculty of Dentistry and the dental clinic occupy most of the Strangway building (3,510 sq. metres) of which the ventillation system has been called into question by the Department of Family Medicine which occupies the 3rd floor facing north and above those three restaurants on the ground floor.
