Ridiculous

I got offended at Super Store when I was with my friend. Instead of Asian food it was Oriental Food.

That is just plain ridiculous....you guys are so brainbrashed into this political correctness crap that you lost all sense of reality.  It's though police like you that make Canada and USA as wimpy as it is.

P.C.

I'm still curious where you are from.

The term oriental is used commonly in business and landmarks throughout the world.  If anyone says the term is offensive they should be canned and smacked in the head a few times to knock some sense in them.

If on the otherhand we call orientals fish heads, that I agree is offensive.

Well

Looks like the truth is slowing starting to come out:

Student recruits unfit for service, say former border guards: [A href="vny!://www.cbc.ca/canada/british-columbia/story/2007/10/01/bc-borderguards.html"]vny!://www.cbc.ca/canada/british-columbia/story/2007/10/01/bc-borderguards.html[/A]

Canada worse than Mexico for Border Security- [A href="vny!://www.canadafreepress.com/2007/cover092807.htm"]vny!://www.canadafreepress.com/2007/cover092807.htm[/A]

Stockwell Day is a moron

I dont have a problem with most of the comments....which in fact are true but it goes to show you that these are immature people guarding our borders and they choose too let whomever in or not as they see fit.  The same goes with collecting taxes and duty. Like with our polticians and our government there is no problem until shit hits the fan.  No doubt this will happen at some time in the future.

49er

Now I understand why Canada does not arm her Customs Border guards.

Yipes.  Scary.  That they are young isn't the problem.  That they are immature IS.

The two almost always go hand in hand.  Usually you don't have one without the other. That's why road rage is committed typically by young males between 16 and 28.

Ever notice: Canada customs tend to let the rich people driving expensive cars who are looking pretty, glitzy, or fashionable get away with not paying duty when just going to the US for like a day even though they may have spent like $400 in one day while common or average peoeple tend to go inside for small amounts?
No, I haven't noticed that.  I've been shopping in the States for a couple of times and have spent, in total as a group, nearly $500 at times and most of the other times were around $200.  I know that I'm just one example amongst everyone else who has been to the border and back but I didn't have to pay.  My friends who have spent more than me didn't have to pay extra.
Y'know, it might work if some cute asian chick was with a white guy in a Lexus with a chiwawa!  *sarcasm*  Next time, borrow the asian girl next door who has a chiwawa and a prada purse.  Give her some gucci perfume and you might be set to go.  Tell them you're heading to the Casinos.  Better luck next time, eh?

Really ?  I don't find that at all.  I know of many many young people who are not immature and are very responsible.  I also know many older people who are quite immature and very irresponsible.  I guess by definition, 'immature' would imply youth, while 'mature' would suggest age...but I was thinking more about behaviour.

 You're not Oriental by chance?

Sorry to blow your theory.  I have shopped in the States more than a couple times.  Maybe a couple hundred times.  I have never paid either.  I am not Asian.

Not so quick PC.  What kind of car do you drive and how much on average have you declared when crossing?
