One of China's biggest sporting celebrities, the basketball player Yao Ming, has married his long-term girlfriend in Shanghai. Yao Ming, who had been described as China's most eligible bachelor, plays for the Houston Rockets in the US. [/p] His bride, Ye Li, is also a basketball player, on the Chinese women's team. [/p] Their relationship has captivated the Chinese media, and speculation about the wedding ceremony has been rife in recent weeks. [/p] While the details of the ceremony were kept private, a spokesman for Yao told reporters that shark's fin soup - a traditional banquet delicacy - was not on the menu.
