datw prob went down cause of all the huge pics and active links that one poster was putting up. It was annoying so I left, lol.

If someone were building a base from the ground up...why???

The only reason the admins at DV have given for not upgrading is because it would be too much of a hassle to transfer over the old posts and link up the base with the other CZ sites. I'm just curious why someone would knowingly choose to build a new site on such a shaky foundation.

  I remember when a hacker was able to see a list of every IP address logged into DV, supposedly just by using a simple script. Time and again DV has been hacked by script kiddies and the admins have responded with bandaids. What a joke.

I have heard nothing of substance to support that kind of claim, but it's an interesting thought    =)

It may appear that DATW uses the same outdated software as DV, but in fact the software is much improved over the antiquated skeleton that DV has been bandaided and built upon, so those security issues you mentioned are not an issue... it would be like criticizing someone for using a windows vista pc because windows 3.1 had issues

  looks like things are running smoothly now and people are settling into the new surroundings

the software has been updated and patched to address those issues
I can not say what the status of DV's programming is, as it is modified code that I have no access to
