(Hell, if you want to bump something, fine, but at least don't pretend to be 5 people all entranced with it.) As it turns out, it was supposed to be a joke by someone here, but neither I nor anyone else here "got it".
Frankly it looked like pointless spamming to me. How much "bumping" is okay? 5 bumps? 100? 50,000? I usually don't sweat it if it's a few times but when it starts to develop a whole thread of "wow!", "bump", "cool!", "watch out!", etc etc etc, then yes, I'll try to discourage it. Do you really want to read a whole message board full of that stuff? I don't and I don't think most people here do either. Bumping something periodically is fine but there has to be
some kind of sense to it.
