Thanks for the heads up about the "troll" sitch.  I went back to DV and explained myself.
 
 Update: Jamie was on Channel M news yesterday, and the North Shore News is going to run a feature story.  The posters are still going up in the community (another 1,000 ordered) and  the emails have hit UBC med school students, SFU alumni and more school/corporate directories.

The cancer (leukemia) is in remission, according to Vancouver Sun's yesterday (or two days ago).

Yes, that's true Orca!  It's a very positive sign, but the leukemia can return anytime without fresh bone marrow.

That's great that he's in remission, but as you say it could be temporary, and other people have urgent needs as well.

Registering for the program is simple, an information session and a basic blood test, if you are a potential match you will be asked to have more detaled blood work done.. I've been on the registry for almost 15 years and I have a universal blood type and have never been called, so it's obviously really tough to find a match.

Canadian Blood Services has a great ad running right now, even if you don't want to do the bone marrow registry, just giving blood is huge. Take a look, the person you help could be someone you love.

  leukemia runs in my family (even though they say it can't). It took my grandpa, great grandpa and great uncle. So go figure.
