Hey SD.
To be honest, I was talking about how I liked to collect and read old marine engineering manuals and volumes. From the days of classical engineering and mostly manual control.. not digital crap.
I sometimes pay a pretty penny for some of the older volumes. Although to me, 30 bucks for an old manual/ volume is a rip off anyway so take it with a grain of salt.
Most I have paid, is for an old volume on hot bulb engines.. they made a few as small farm engines, and made I think one for a wooden sail/ power vessel. Didnt do too well. The volume is super rare, from around the late 1800's and I think I paid close to 300 for it. SS was very happy with me when she noticed. Dont ask me about it.. I dont know where it is currently. In one of three places in my vacuum sealed bags in rubbermaids.
What amazed me, was they have something working off a similar principal actually for sale.. New composites and new minds on it I guess. Also they used electrical on this one.

The place I'm at now is temp, but it's an hour + away from school and my social life. My profs were predicting my own death a week ago - I was past my "social reproduction" limit within the city. Fun times. I'm now moving to a place 15-20mins away, in the middle of everything, and with someone, so I won't be alone. I'm pretty excited.

Oh wow. Fascinating, Russ.
I'm not really a collector of things; but maybe that's due to not really having passions or nerdy interests. I used to have this crazy idea or plan that I was going to collect every UK Town and Country planning book from the 1950s onward. A bored professor in England started publishing books on chronicling the changes in planning from the 50s until now. He died in 2005, but I think he started this ridiculous project right after defending his PHD.

I left the second edition at home.

A 65-year-old man who was knocked off his bicycle by three teenagers on a Pennsylvania trail shot two of them, killing one, police said according to reports.
The Reading Eagle newspaper said (http://readingeagle.com/article.aspx?id=361536) the wounded teen, 16, was taken to hospital and the third, age 15, was taken in for questioning and was later sent to a youth center.
The paper said the mother of the slain boy, 16, asked officials not to release his name until she had been able to tell other members of the family what happened.
The incident happened on the Thun Trail near a bridge over the Schuylkill River, between Reading and West Reading around noon Wednesday. According to WGAL.com (http://www.wgal.com/news/30301618/detail.html), police said the boys knocked the man off his bicycle in an apparent robbery attempt.

"There was one juvenile who was shot and is deceased [and] another juvenile who was shot and is in surgery," Police Chief Jed Habecker said, according to a report by the WFMZ-TV station (http://www.wfmz.com/news/news-regional-berks/Police-Man-shot-teens-in-self-defense/-/121418/8499682/-/12rwn9cz/-/index.html).
According to police, the 65-year-old was riding his bicycle when the teens knocked him to the ground, the station said.
Police said two teens then assaulted the man, who drew his gun and shot them.
The man was released by police after they consulted with District Attorney John Adams late Wednesday, WFMZ reported.

Hahaha. She went on exchange for an entire year, so she basically forgot the stuff that occurred and transpired... (nearly two years ago now). Talked for an entire hour, so it must have gone well. We will probably meet up again in a month or so.

Midterms are coming up. She has to write her papers and read the course material. She's one of those who reads everything the night before and still gets an A+.
