I'm in desperate need of a coat/rain coat with gore-tex.

Do you NEED a Goretex jacket ? ...or do you just want a Goretex jacket.  I haven't checked them out in a while....but last time I looked, they're pretty pricey.

Costco, Mark's Work Wearhouse, or some of those clothing stores on Broadway across from MEC.  The small stores have some no-name jackets.

Otherwise, there's a 3psc Men's Rainsuit at Costco for about $80- inner shell jacket, outer shell jacket and rain pants.

Well my rain coat failed, and I mean failed miserably. lol
Last weekend I was drier without the coat in the rain than with it.

I'm also freezing, I need a decent coat. Everybody is telling me to go to the Mountain Co-Op.
And since this weekend I'll be sitting around a camp fire in cold nights. I think I need a coat. lol

Lucky me the low's drop to around 2 the next day after we leave. lol

I haven't owned a winter coat for SOOOOO many years.....or boots for that matter.

25 to 0 in less than 2 days, then back again a few days later. Oh the classic ones are when you're caught in a snow storm when it was balmy out 5hrs earlier. 25 to -5 in a couple hours. hellish.

Funny, I was going to go there this evening to Michael's cuz I needed something, but ended up going to Stupidstore instead.

Has anyone tried grapples?  I saw how it was made on the discovery channel (or was it the cooking channel) and had to try one.  When I saw them at Superstore, I just had to buy it.  They're expensive, a pack of 4 for $4.99.  It was so delicious.

Definitely Costco has excellent men's coats like Lil Me mentioned.  Mountain Co-op may be too expensive for you, SD.

That doesn't make sense...unless it's just me.  If you're used to -15 degree nights, at the moment, we're not even at a minus yet.

maybe but they do have a sale going on and I could get away with buying a fleece for sale + a rain coat for sail for the same price as a coat.

Plus, I have to pay more anyway nobody makes coats my size that fit properly except the ski stores.

lol.. don't worry you're not the only one confused. My roommate makes fun of me every night when I go "damn its cold".

Best explanation I can come up with is the dominant use of a car. Back home I never wore a coat. I was only outside for seconds before getting in a car. Here I'm walking around for 30-45 minutes at a time. more exposed and we don't turn on the heat around here in the dorm.
