Yea.....the gas thing is definitely an issue.  It was the Tacoma that had the best mileage, best everything.

We talked about another economy car, and we looked hard at how much we really use a truck for 'truck stuff'.....and it's a lot.  So a truck it is.  I was a truck person for years.  My Matrix is the first time I've had a car for a LONG LONG time.

Hey Michel,

Interesting!

It's funny you say that, I have been looking around the valley for the last 10 days or so and haven't seen alot of Tacoma's, which is srprising because there is a disproportionate number of Toyotas here.

Do you have any links to this, the only ones I'm finding are "Buy my Book" links. I was looking at the 4 cyl which I know is a little underpowered at 159 hp, but I need box space more than towing capability.

The standard safety features appeal to me , electronic stability control, brake assist, as well as front, side and curtain airbags. I see between 2 and 10(on a bad day) deer strikes on the way to work, so anything that can help is welcome.

I'm going to ante up for the consumer reports reviews on the '09 and see what they have to say as well.

I guess the truck bed in the Honda Ridgeline is too small for your purposes?

So I guess that also means NO to buying an  ice cream truck, or an Oscar Meyer Weinermobile.

I wouldn't rule out the Wienermobile

I don't know.  A weeny-mobile appeals to me.  I bet it makes its own gas.

I'd settle for a weeny computer right about now.  It would seem Sawdusts computer is 5 times faster than mine.

Another interesting tidbit. Toyota revamped the Tacoma in '95
