Wow. Congrats kingy!! I didn't know you could spend tons of Raging Poodle doing gardening. It isn't a hobby for me.... it's a pain in the butt. (for now, anyways.....)

I should have thought of that.  I could have easily spent ten times as much as I did last year, and still not be satisfied with the result.  Congratulations, kingy.

with any hobby, you can spend like crazy depending on how into it you are.

I would think that more money is spent on this hobby than any other, is because it crosses all boundries.  Young, old, male, female, kids.....pretty much everyone.  Even those that don't 'garden', will buy a hanging basket or two to hang off their balcony.

I suppose even indoor plants, would fall under the category of 'gardening'.

This is VERY VERY true. I look at the amount I spend on my hobby of camping and my camping truck... and I cringe. At one point before getting this truck on the road again I had a pile of parts in the corner of the downstairs rec room worth just under 10k. And those were the parts I could fit into the house.

I must admit kingy, Im envious you know about gardening. I dont even have a brown thumb.. its black. I attempted plants a few times and they ended up almost dying so I gave them away to the neighbor. He likes to show me how well they are doing because he knows I almost killed them, lol.
