I had to look up the answer as I didn't have a clue.  I still don't know the guy.

In that whole Wiki speel about that video, there were at least 20 names tossed around.  Not one of them was a name I recognized, and not one of them was Christopher Cross.

"Video killed the radio star" came true.  Great artists such as Christopher Cross were replaced by model-looking types such as Duran Duran.  But nobody's come close to this accomplishment:

[SPAN class=mw-headline]Awards[/SPAN] [UL] [LI]Academy Award for Best Song, 1981, "[A title="Arthur's Theme (Best That You Can Do)" href="vny!://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arthur%27s_Theme_(Best_That_You_Can_Do)"]Arthur's Theme (Best That You Can Do)[/A]" [LI]Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song, 1981, "[A title="Arthur's Theme (Best That You Can Do)" href="vny!://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arthur%27s_Theme_(Best_That_You_Can_Do)"]Arthur's Theme (Best That You Can Do)[/A]" [LI]Grammy, 1981 - Record of the Year - "Sailing" [LI]Grammy, 1981 - Album of the Year - Christopher Cross [LI]Grammy, 1981 - Best New Artist - Christopher Cross [LI]Grammy, 1981 - Best Arrangement - "Sailing" [/LI][/UL] What a sad reflection this is on American culture.  MTV killed the industry and now MTV doesn't even play rock music videos.  Go figure.

Was this really an impossible question?

I believe it was Stretch.

I know the songs, I know Christopher Cross.  Don't know the video.  I made no association of him to the video you speak of.
