Not so strange, SD.  They are sending cremated remains into space, and scattering them at sea.  If that was a person's interest in life, they would likely appreciate the connection in death.  They would pop back as ghosts to make sure they liked their final resting place, don't you think?

I think it's kinda cool too.

(SD....I Think I know where you're coming from....there's kind of a gimmicky commercialism connected with the thought somehow.)  But if you look passed that...... for someone who had a deep connection with nature....more specifically the ocean.....it would surely be their heaven.

OH....by the way, Orik.....I can't give you your winning blesses if you're going to be lazy. [img style="CURSOR: pointer" onclick=url(this.src); src="http://www.cheesebuerger.de/images/more/bigs/c008.gif" border=0]

I must admit that the space trip appeals to me the most.  I always wished I could have an adventure like that.

I sort of get it. But your being mixed with concrete I don't know how that's ' naturalistic'. If they just dumped you in the sea to buried you on a top of a mountain over looking a cliff that you were fond of, I get that.

Because it will become a living reef, with fish swimming around, and creatures living in it.  So much nicer than just being stuck in the ground.  And it is helping nature too, which is nice.

I so hear you SD.....that was my first reaction.  But like Kitten says......to be the life support of  ocean LIFE....it somehow takes on a different feel. (ignore the concrete.....lol)

But what if the concrete idea fails? You're ashes will just end up being picked up like those tires are now if it becomes an ecological disaster. You'll end up in garbage dump/land fill.
You could just be buried in a garden and support a tree too you know.

For one thing, you won't be around to object to it.  Secondly, it isn't likely to fail, and since ships are sunk all the time to provide reefs and provide places for sea life, how would it be any different?

I also believe there are laws concerning the disposal of bodies, and it is against the law to be buried in somebody's garden.

Actor/comedian Bill Murray is unlike almost all of his peers because he does without these two things.....(I'll except one).

 really? That's against the law?
Didn't really mean an actual garden more so a tree out in the forest.
I don't know what to do with grandma. She's getting cremated and talks about it all the time. She says we can take her on vacations or something. lol
