Nope, tieing tubes is VERY easy and painless.  My coworker got it done and just took a few minutes of "laser zapping."  Very quick.

[span class="titleMedHeadB"]Can a tubal ligation be reversed?[/span]
In some cases, yes, but don't count on it. Reversals are expensive and insurance companies rarely cover them. They're also much more complicated than closing or cutting the tubes in the first place, and your chances of being able to conceive after a reversal are uncertain. Only 20 to 40 percent of women who reverse a tubal ligation go on to give birth successfully (and your chances for an ectopic pregnancy increase). Tubes that are closed off by cauterization can't be put back together properly, because the heat destroys their delicate lining.

whatever. I've seen both done on people and the male had a better experience then the female.

All this talk about snipping is making me cringe...

Russ

Insurance companies arent a worry up here SD, and if it isnt covered it is affordable as Im sure you know.

When my friends had the procedure done, they were told it could be done two ways and one was more easier to reverse, but more expensive to do.

Are you talking about mood/ pain or reversals? I dont actually know about the aftereffects afterwards, I didnt get that much into it when my friends talked about it. I kinda went an internal "lalalalalala" after thinking ouch.

    whats the difference in aftereffect?

All I know is my mom didn't have the greatest experience a couple years ago.  She was in a lot of pain and cried a lot for a couple weeks after.

I think that it's different here and times and technology have changed.

Sportsdude

She had it done 3 years ago. So I don't know if times have changed that much.

P.C.

Firstly, vasectomy's ARE reversible.  The procedure and after affects are extremely minimal compared to the woman having her tubes tied.  The womans hormonal balance can be out of whack indefinitely and the procedure itself is more invasive than a vasectomy.

The crux of the problem here is, men just don't like the idea of anyone going after their good bits with anything sharp or pointy.

Hubby had it done several years back, and when he went in to the office, he came back about 5 minutes later.  I thought he left his CareCard in the car and was just coming back to get it.  He was DONE.  We went to a staff party afterwards and even danced a couple tunes.  He had a little bruising the next day, and that was it.

I have one question, P.C.  How did he manage to get seen by the doctor in less than 5 minutes??  Either he was booked first or you were in the presence of a miracle!!  lol
Thousands of years ago cats were worshipped.  They have not forgotten.

Russ

True, the mans is quick. Im thinking about getting it done after two kids when/ if ever that comes along for me. I recently found out that my dad had it done years ago.

I remember them saying that the vasectomy is reversible, but being told by the doctor that getting the tubes tied was more reliable from pregnancies and easier to reverse than a vasectomy.
