Well, there were no speeders tonight.  Almost white-out conditions.....a lovely leisurely drive home, taking in the beauty.  Ahhhhh....

Well actually. Sportsdude, we don't get a lot of snow here.  And when we do, it doesn't stick around too long.

Since this is the driving thread. I wasn't speeding but I escaped certain death this morning. For some reason I'm not seeing things as well as I used to. Well okay here's what happend.  There's this windy road that forks halfway through it. If you go left the road continues if you go right you go right into a barrier thats protecting you from a 100 metre fall of a cliff right next to a house.  I went right.  I was going the speed limit which was somewhere between 40 and 60kph but the second I realized I went the wrong way and was looking at certain doom I slammed on the brakes. I stopped just before the barrier. Said to myself 'good to know the brakes work' but I was shaken.  I've got perfect vision and yet I couldn't see that the road was out ahead. This isn't the first time in a while something like this has happend to me. I'm 20 years old I shouldn't be having eye sight problems.

You should get your night vision checked.  I assume you were driving in the dark???
Thousands of years ago cats were worshipped.  They have not forgotten.

Sportsdude

Yeah I was driving in the dark. I had the brights on but I also had map lights on so I could read the route book to tell me where to throw the paper. I can see when the lights inside my car is on its very bright and I have to squint.  I can't see anything lately. Ran over a curb I couldn't see a week ago that put me back 700 bucks then yesterday I didn't see the dumpster behind me and backed into it. ugh.

Sportsdude....you need to be careful.  You're going to get hurt badly.  I don't want to sound critical, but it doesn't sound like a vision problem so much as it sounds like you have other things on your mind.     Not being able to read what's on the dumpster could be a visual problem....but not seeing the dumpster at all seems more like a case of not paying attention.

Well I was paying attention. But for some reason on the dumpster thing I just didn't know I was that close and a light from a building blinded me.  Same thing happend when I jumped the curb foggy windows, brights reflective off of a car, the indoor lights makes it hard to see and lights tend to blind me.

Other then that I've come close to hitting deer. Now they just sit on the road and I just honk at them to get out of the way.

Well, be careful before you wound yourself.  Like Kitten said, get your vision checked for night blindness for goodness sake.

yeah I'm getting really careful out there. Good thing I don't have to work for a month.

Hey bud, yeah get your vision checked. Im having a harder time seeing at night as well.. i got some eyedrops and a new perscription.

Ive backed up into a pole and a dumpster as well to be honest, just put a ding on my trucks bumper, but I want paying attention. My mind was on other things...

Best of luck bud, stay safe on the roads
