You think your boss is a jerk? Check out this VARBusiness story about a tech CEO the feds say was [a href="vny!://www.varbusiness.com/sections/news/breakingnews.jhtml?articleId=193500991"]  using his employees' personal information to apply for loans and credit cards[/a] to the tune of $1 million.

Somewhere a whole lot of businesses who bought this guy's managed-services pitch are cringing with the thought of who is taking care of their data now. And 50 employees are gonna have to sweat out their credit reports even as they look for new jobs. Now that's a lousy boss.
The real trouble with reality is that there's no background music.

Thats not funny, but it is.

Why do the employee's get screwed on their credit reports?

Because their boss put their credit in the toilet with his fraud and criminal behavior. Don't expect the credit reporting companies to fall all over themselves trying to straighten it out. They won't.

Ouch! I was under the impression that if it was credit fraud, the credit institutions were liable and it wouldnt affect you long term.

That sucks big time. It was out of their control due to it was their boss, a trusted person and they are being penalized for that.

Technically, yes, but not in actual practice. Kind of like obeying the speed limit.
