Never underestimate the power of a basement-dwelling loser.
The real trouble with reality is that there's no background music.

I'm resigned to the thought that there are some things I will never understand......mind you, I've never been that bored in my life.

I think people spend too much energy trying to "understand" abstract art. You either take a liking to a piece or you don't, often for reasons that don't become clear until you've lived with a work of art. Painting can be about any number of things from strict representation to meditating on the quality of a line, and all points in between.[/DIV]Have a chat with a pal about a painting or other work of art over a bottle of wine and see what comes out. You don't have to speak in lofty terms to talk about why you like or dislike a painting. [/DIV]And there are tons of hacks out there to be sure. You can usually tell when someone has put a lot of effort into their work.

I agree FC about finding it necessary to 'understand'.  If there were a clear message, it wouldn't require discussion or debate.  The artsy farsty crowd are missing this.  (either that, or it would leave them without a platform to try to impress)  I like what I like.

A lot of the work that I've done I just did intuitively and figured it out later. Of course that was just my interpretation, and everyone else's could be different.

Anyway, neat thread and I wish I could keep the discussion up, but I gotta tuck into bed soon. Sleep tight PC.

Hope the lost little troll finds his mommy.

Night FC.   Trolls don't have mommys.  That's the missing link for them.

Thanks. Obviously some people think otherwise.

Must be my views on DV, because it was all quiet until I started expressing my views. That's exactly when they started frantically hacking away at the smite link.

I figured since there's no delete key at their disposal here, that's how they're substituting for their neurotic requirements. After all, old habits die hard. But I shall not be silenced here, ha!  [img style="CURSOR: pointer" onclick=url(this.src); src="http://www.cheesebuerger.de/images/midi/froehlich/a049.gif" border=0]

And of course the amusing question is: If they love DV so much that they can't bear the sight of my openly talking about all the dysfunctionality in that place, then what the heck are they doing here as registered members?

[/DIV]> Perhaps it's a spite smite.  It only happens at night....which would make it a night spite smite.[img style="CURSOR: pointer" onclick=url(this.src); src="http://www.cheesebuerger.de/images/smilie/froehlich/d030.gif" border=0][/DIV]Yes try saying those last 3 words 20 times without spitting.  [img style="CURSOR: pointer" onclick=url(this.src); src="http://www.cheesebuerger.de/images/smilie/froehlich/g025.gif" border=0]

Well, I got it figured out GT.  My Saturday morning smite cleared it up.  I've seen the light.....it's not quite right to smite for spite. [img style="CURSOR: pointer" onclick=url(this.src); src="http://www.cheesebuerger.de/images/smilie/froehlich/d030.gif" border=0]

Thousands of years ago cats were worshipped.  They have not forgotten.

Kitten who on earth would smite you? Someone's kinda cranky around here....[/DIV]Funny that we all get extra smite the same time the little trolls were poking around.
