[P class=MsoNormal]I was looking around some forums the other day and some grammar cops were correcting people's grammar/spelling mistakes for the smallest of reasons; half of these grammar cops were even making mistakes themselves, lol.
So it started me thinking about my nephew, who is 17 years old, Tim (not he's real name) found out he had dyslexia when he was about eight years old. [SPAN] [/SPAN]His reading and writing skills are not to good, however, give him a car engine and he can strip it down and put it back together very quickly...he is also a very good artist.
What is dyslexia?
[P class=MsoNormal]Dyslexia causes difficulties in learning to read, write and spell. Short-term memory, mathematics ability, concentration, personal organisation and sequencing may also be affected. Dyslexia usually arises from a weakness in the processing of language-based information. Biological in origin, it tends to run in families, but environmental factors also contribute to it. Dyslexia can occur at any level of intellectual ability. It is not the result of poor motivation, emotional disturbance, sensory impairment or lack of opportunities, but it may occur alongside any of these. The effects of dyslexia can be largely overcome by skilled spetgwpdt teaching and the use of compensatory strategies
