Don't know if this has been posted here before, but there's a way to speed up firefox, if you're a broadband user.
1) Type "about:config" on the address bar
2) Look for "network.vny!.pipelining" , "network.proxy.pipelining" , "network.vny!.pipelining.maxrequests"
3) Set "network.vny!.pipelining" to "true" , set "network.proxy.pipelining" to "true" , and set "network.vny!.pipelining.maxrequests" to some number like "30".
4) Right click anywhere on the page and select New -> Integer. Call it "nglayout.initialpaint.delay" and set its value to "0"
It worked on mine (I use Shaw), so I'm guessing it should work on some other users' computers here.
