Lise, what kind of things do you shoot?  You seem to mention it all the time.

  Bye Miss Goddess Lise.

Nice top.
Ugh...my stomach is barking    :(

For thou art with me; thy cream and thy sugar they comfort me
Thou preparest a carafe before me in the presence of Juan Valdez
Thou anointest my day with pep; my mug runneth over
Surely richness and taste shall follow me all the days of my life
And I will dwell in the house of coffee forever.

A fool's paradise is better than none.

Yeah, I will be reduced to sucking the marrow out of my office-mates' bones in a few minutes if I don't get some Lunch. I was going to go out to Lunch with someone but she hasn't gotten back to me about it yet. Grraah!

My employer just handed us a Self Help Advice about "How to Prepare to survive a major Earthquake."  Oh-oh...not good... Should I worry?  I haven't even prepared for anything.

Sportsdude

well you do live in an earthquake zone.  As long as your building is earthquake safe you should be fine and oh don't go to richmond in the event of one either it might end up in the sea.

I do?  I don't recall being in a major earthquake in BC.  There were a few minor shakes, but nothing major on the scale.  Actually, I'm not worried.  All I can do is hope that my friends and family are safe.

Sportsdude

Yes Vancouver is prone to Tsunami's and major earthquakes.  If you live on the West coast of North America you are in the so called 'Ring of Fire'.  Your earthquakes are caused by Vancouver Island.  It can't make up its mind it moves.

Worst case scenario.  Vancouver Island moves a couple inches in a few seconds instead over a few years, causing a huge earth quake in the Straits and creating a Tsunami that hits Vancouver.

Then there's volcanos but thats mainly Seattle's problem.

I better prepare myself.  Time to stock up on cash, water, candles, matches, flashlights and all that important things.

Sportsdude

yup you need a plan
There's a video of the last major earthquake that hit Seattle-Tacoma on youtube I'll find it for yeah and post it.

I probably have a bad attitude about this whole thing but I really have stopped caring and worrying about major disasters.  If it happens, it happens.  You can't fight mother nature.

Sportsdude

Nope you can't stop these things but you've got to be prepared.  As long as the 'big one' doesn't happen while your around the Richmond area you should be fine.  They did a study and the soil in Richmond could liquify if a powerful earthquake were to hit Vancouver.
