I gave my notice today...  I was counter-offered by my boss as expected....

it is good.  I expected the boss man to counter-offer, but he is waving a lot more money in my face than I had expected.  I am not changing my mind, but it did make me think for a while.

I have actually given my notice because I have a new one lined up.  Good at my job?  I dunno about that.  Counter-offers are a normal thing to do.  it costs a lot of money to find and replace an employee (at any level)  Counter offers are usually given to keep an employee in their position, only until it is convienient for the employer to let them go.  The counter-offered empoyee has a shelf life with that company for no more than 3 months.
