Aww Lil_Me you have made me hungry and jealous, what you ate just sounds so good.....

I am happy you liked the lemonade recipe it has been around for a very long time. I like the concentrated lemon juice cause it is so inexpensive, while fresh lemons are a chore to get at times and a pain to squeeze.. If you are using fresh lemon juice, try it with only 3/4 of a cup sugar, to 7 cups water and 2 cups ice..

For Myself I like my lemonade just slightly sweet, but not to sweet. I find the fresh lemon and lime make a world of difference to the flavour. For me, it just gives a glass of lemonade a slightly tart bit of bite. While at the same time it is remaining sweet. Not to tart & not to sweet but just right, the perfect way to quench a thirst on a hot day..

I hope you get a chance to try it freshly made with at least, 1 added lime to give it a bit of a extra om-ff. I would make the fresh batch made more often, except it really. is just such a pain to juice the lemons.Maybe I should buy a juicer, but how does one justify the expense, when you do not use it often. I still make it the old fashioned way with a knife and a spoon, which is a real pain in the ass method for making lemon juice. So I choose to mostly use the concentrate lemon juice and add a couple of fresh ones just to get the lemon & lime wedges or slices... Every once in awhile I will make it all from scratch.

If it is not sweet enough you can always add more sugar.. and if not tart enough more lemon juice but then I recommend 2 table spoons at a time.. and taste test as you go. taste test with the table spoon. This my secret to making the perfect picture of lemonade. Yes it is a chore but I feel it is well worth it, cause once you find one that works best for you, you can continue to make it that way & stick to it for always having the perfect glass.

Damn I do type to much..

  No lunch today

Tonights supper shall be
Yorkshire pudding.
mushroom gravy.
Parmesan roasted potatoes,
corn on the cob..
Steamed cauliflower..

the main entrée will be Either T-Bone steak or Cornish game hen.. I have not quite made up my mind which I want more the hen or the steak

Side note if I can get the butcher to order some fresh rabbit, I will be quite happy. I would like to buy some for a stew next week and I would like to have it at least 48 hours in advance for the red wine marinate.

I'll go for the first option, with the steak.

Orik

I am craving both.. but it is a lot of work to prepare both.. so I must decide on one or the other.

Rabbit? I think I'll pass on that one.

Sportsdude

I've been working too much on the house to eat something proper.

T-Bone porterhouse steak.

20 ounces before cooking.. I used a New-York steak spice 48 hrs before grilling I Grilled my steak till medium rare. Normally I go rare but I am not sure I had the temperatures hot enough. so I went with medium rare just to play it safe.

For side dishes I served it with

Grilled garlic bread.

Baked Potato's with Sea salt & butter a 2 sides 1 of sour creme 1 of fresh chives an green onions

Secondary side was Grilled Seafood consisting of green pepper, cherry tomatoes, baby shallots & jumbo prawns on a skewer. if using wooden skewers soak in water for 30 min prior to making the kebabs...  I marinated the Prawns In a lime an chili sauce. I made enough extra to keep separated to brush on the kebabs as I grilled them to give them that much extra omf for flavour

This Surf and turf dinner.. my cost for dinner tonight was 14 dollars. With enough prepped food to serve 2 people.. I got left overs to cook for lunch tomorrow.  I think the total cost to eat out would run about 35 dollars per person. and here i prepared enough food for 2 meals x 2 people..

Only problem is I am tired now.. and the house is to hot from the cooking.. the wind blew all the heat inside.. :)) but the hall way ssmells yummy like grilled steaks instead of stale smoke and sour beer ..

Grilled fajita strips, salad, avacado dip and chips

Orik

Sounds pretty good, but what is a fajita strip?

Is it the same thing as when I make grilled chicken breast cut in to strips with salsa and peppers added to it ? ?

It's a type of steak cut into strips. Some people cook them with extras like peppers and onions but I like mine marinated then grilled.

Lunch- hot turkey and cheese sandwhich with mixed fruit.
