Violet...Kits ditched us ages and ages ago.

  It is beautiful and sunny here right now....BUT....hub phoned this morning when he got to work, and it is snowing like crazy where he is.

No....I'm on Vancouver Island.  It's weird to think that only a half hour away, it is snowing madly, while it is sunny and beautiful here.  Not uncommon though...the Island has the most 'pockety' weather patterns around.
