its a nickname lol.  You can tell the difference between an anglo fan and a francophone fan because the anglos say "habs" as a nickname and the francophones just say "Canadiens".

 well Habitants mean people in french.  Upper Canada was french.  So instead of calling them Upper Canada people just called them habitants.

If you look at the NHL teams from Canada in the NHL.
Vancouver Canucks- 'canuck' is a slang word for Canadian
Montreal Canadiens- is the french word of Canadian.  Nickname: Habs which is from Habitant which is french for persons/people.

LOL...back to work...80%good...still worn out from sickness...and yes...I am sick of being stuck in the house...LOL...yeah...the beauty of the mountains around here are breathtaking...unfortunatley..if you live here long enough...you start to take them for granted.  I went back to ontario though..and haven't taken the mountains for granted ever since...nor the live wildlife versus the road kill...If I had more pics of the scenery around here...I would share them.  Just not so pretty looking outside right now with all the mud and such...LOL
